My earliest childhood was in a country still figuring out what to do after Jim Crow. The Voting Rights Act was only two years old when I was born. Are you saying that era was good? That Black Americans were better off when we couldn't stay in most hotels or eat at most restaurants? Do you know about redlining? Was Medgar Evers murdered for registering Black voters? Viola Liuzzo was killed by the KKK after Selma. MLK didn't just preach. He lived in run-down Chicago tenements to expose housing discrimination. He marched. He was jailed. He was assassinated at 39. His radical ideas? Wanting to be judged by character, not color. Opposing an unjust war. Calling out poverty. That's not Marxism. That's American moral leadership. And I voted for Trump three times. So I'm not defending MLK because I'm a Democrat. I'm defending him because what you said is historically wrong. Be accurate before you are ignorant.

I was the first black Republican elected to the Ohio House in over half a century and the first black Ohioan to serve as House Majority Whip. But according to the Democratic Party, black Americans are too stupid to obtain an ID to vote and need our own districts artificially created for us.
