Finding it impossible to remember all the different apps names I use: I need to unlock my front door, I can’t type front door instead I have to remember “August” I need to open my garage. I can’t just type garage, instead I have to remember “myQ” I need to check the baby camera I have to remember “Nanit” I want to check the baby’s recent feeding I have to remember “Nara” I want to change the house temperature I have to remember “ecobee” etc etc etc ad nauseum. My brain is out of space. Anyone else?

I don’t trust them to do the right thing all the time - and nobody doing serious work should. Sandboxed, with a controlled blast radius, fine. Full control over anything you can’t afford to lose? The first time I visited San Francisco, I was eating a burger on the patio of some fast casual spot when a homeless guy came up and asked me to buy him a burger and fries. Normally I ignore it, but I was feeling generous. I went inside, ordered it, came back out, and handed it to him. He opens the burger, sees onions, immediately starts yelling at me, and then throws the whole thing on the ground. While he’s screaming about the onions, the owner comes out with a broom and chases him off. That was the last time I ever went out of my way to buy a homeless person food.

Today I went to a chic coffee shop with my 3 children (I'm a latte addict personally). I walked in - and not even one person had a child and everyone was staring at us. I could sense the annoyance around us when my baby starting whimpering to come out of his stroller and my 4 year old was laughing just a little too loud. It wasn't imagined either - I could feel the negative energy around me. I'm noticing a lot of spaces are becoming very anti-child. It's not just restaurants at dinner any longer. It's everywhere - grocery stores, libraries, swimming pools, etc. because so many people don't have kids and don't want them (*ancestor cry*). It's like the presence of a baby or child is very off-putting for the childless - simply out of their own contempt. A society that hates children is a society with no future at all. It's a dead zone with soulless people only existing.
