When MJ did not make his Varsity basketball team, his Mother did NOT: 1) complain to the school 2) call the coach 3) demand a meeting with the AD Deloria Jordan simply told MJ “work harder.” ~ via @JMMontgomeryCo

Could write an equivalent tweet about @james_shipley11, with a common thread being that Coach Desmond and the entire Team Carolina staff (@StickwithusO @teamcarolinalax) set us all on the paths we went down. Extremely grateful

PARENTS: There are very few things that you can say from the bleachers that will ever make your child play better. Just sit back and enjoy the game, cheer for your child, cheer for the team, and take it all in! It will be much more enjoyable for you and your child.

"I want to play one sport all the time said no kid ever." Play multiple sports. One sport compliments the other and develops all around skills over time. Different sports equals different movements, which trains the body in different ways, creating a more resilient athlete. Wrestling can help with blocking and tackling, pitching, and quarterbacking, Tennis can help baseball. Track can help football, basketball develops just about everything etc etc. Nobody majors in math in middle school, and nobody should play one sport in middle school either. The goal of youth is to develop a wide foundation of skills to use to specialize later on. We don't need kids peaking in little league...Play lots of sports! #LTAD

Parents of young athletes: You're being sold a bill of goods… Early specialization… It's a fear campaign… Its a billion dollar dumpster fire saying: To become a great athlete you must: Specialize early… Train year-round… Compete often… If you don’t your child is going to miss out and fall behind And for the most part:  It’s complete bullshit… What it really is: Early Development of sport-specific skills Early success in sport Little to no development of fundamental movement skills Poor performances later in the sport Higher chance of injury Higher Chance of Burnout from Sport Early start…Early finish! It's a complete lack of understanding of how humans develop… During the first 14 years of Life: Be a human first:  Do plenty of activities that involve: Rolling Crawling Climbing Reaching Bending Rotating Standing (1 foot) Changing levels: Be an athlete second: Sprint Jump Hop Climb Wrestle swim/bike/ski catch/kick/throw/trap Etc Sprinkle in lots of activities and multiple sports!  I can't guarantee a Div 1 scholarship but I can say that kids will be more Coordinated, stronger, more flexible, cardiovascularly fit, more resistant to fatigue and injury, and also be calmer, less stressed, leaner, and able to learn new skills. Skills like complex sports specific skills. #LTAD D.M. me for details about youth athletic development courses for purchase

A very simple solution to this “Sign Stealing” nonsense is to install audio in the helmet of the QB (and one defensive player). This technology has been used since the 1940’s… it is cheap & readily available. The fact that we are hand signaling plays in College Football (and even HSFB) in 2023 is ludicrous!
