Ending violence against women must be a national priority - and under our government, it is. We've introduced 10 days paid family and domestic violence leave, made the $5,000 Leaving Violence Program permanent, and invested hundreds of millions into frontline services. Because when women make the decision to leave, having somewhere safe to go can be life-changing. That’s why we've built 33 women’s shelters across Australia and will build 4,000 social and affordable homes for women and children escaping violence. And, we’ll keep building, funding centres like The Coast Women’s and Children’s Trauma Recovery Centre. It means that women and children will have a local, safe place to turn to for help. We know there’s more to do, and we’ll keep fighting for a future free from violence.
