🤖Recently, Elon Musk talked about the "containment" of "future" crime, stating: "If someone has committed a crime, a more humane form of containment of future crime. You now get a free Optimus, and its just going to follow you around and stop you from doing crime. But, other than that, you get to do anything..." What do you think about this? Robot police following you around to stop "future crime?" Yay, or Nay?

@lilienfeld1 @covid_quest @BillAckman @RobertKennedyJr @MartinKulldorff Kulldorff is from Sweden and the swedish pandemic response was quite similar. For example; No lockdowns. No vaccine recomendations for kids under 12 years of age. End result. Zero covid deaths among 1.8M children and a very limited amount of educational time lost.

Some have criticized @RobertKennedyJr ACIP members appointments as being unqualified because they deem some to be ‘vaccine skeptics,’ a nomenclature they use, for example, to describe @MartinKulldorff. Kulldorff is a epidemiologist that co-authored the Great Barrington Declaration that recommended focused protection for the most vulnerable and a return to normalcy for young healthy children and others in light of the vastly different risk of COVID to the young and healthy and the other health economic and societal risks to the then prevailing global lockdown approach in October 2020. The GBD was an extremely important contribution to the COVID discussion that was widely derided at the time, but in retrospect appears to have been a vastly superior approach to dealing with Covid. Like other drugs, vaccines offer benefits alongside risks that must be carefully weighed in order for a proper risk reward assessment to be made about their use in different populations, the age at which they are administered, and other relevant considerations. An ACIP panel that includes individuals who have shown a willingness to challenge conventional wisdom on vaccines and other health measures is more likely to get to the truth than one solely comprised of ‘vaccine enthusiasts.’ Vaccines have saved millions of lives, while also causing enormous harm to some. @RobertKennedyJr new ACIP panel can help advance our thinking on vaccine use and thereby help restore confidence that has been lost in our health institutions by an objective and careful review of vaccine policy. RFK is on the right track and he should be applauded for his efforts here.
Bill Ackman@BillAckman

This is a superb list of new ACIP members. Instead of slandering @RobertKennedyJr, observers should have waited to see who the new board members were before presuming RFK would stack the board with anti-science wackos. Vaccines for our children and/or adults should not be a right or left issue. It should only be about the facts and the science. This is an important step in the right direction.

@settingitfree @NIH So if there are causes as you say. Isn't it great that tax dollars are spent to figure out what the causes are? One side says there is nothing to see here, and the other hope there is. Science does not know why, so it seems reasonable to research it.

I’ve had very intense conversations with Bobby and the White House over the weekend and even this morning. I want to thank VP JD specifically for his honest counsel. With the serious commitments I’ve received from the administration and the opportunity to make progress on the issues we agree on like healthy foods and a pro-American agenda, I will vote yes.

I subscribed initially as I loved the concept. The number of factual errors and lack of research that only takes a quick Google search or reading of an X post to figure out became annoying. Having biases is fine, but when it takes 30 sec to double check if an assumption is right or wrong... Just look at the comments on your YouTube videos that are about exactly that

This platform provides a clear and immediate way to refute anything false in the replies and with @CommunityNotes. The same is not true for legacy media who lie relentlessly, but there is no way to counter their propaganda.
Konstantin Kisin@KonstantinKisin

So much focus from the British commentariat on X and Elon Musk and it's true that there were irresponsible people posting unverified allegations here. As there were on all other social media. But looking at media reporting, if it wasn't for X, we wouldn't even know that gangs of armed & masked Muslim men are rampaging through cities up and down the country. We wouldn't see them hunting down and beating up white people. We wouldn't have yet more evidence of two tier policing. All we would have is the approved narrative. You can see this with all the screaming about misinformation. When the founder of far left doxxing organisation Hope Not Hate posts misinformation about Muslims being targeted with acid which is completely false and obviously provocative, they just pretend it didn't happen. Like it or not, human beings invented mass communication platforms. They aren't going away. Governments and legacy media want to crack down on them to re-establish narrative control. I can understand why but it's not going to happen. Social media still needs a lot of work and things like Community Notes are an important first step in the right direction. We desperately need tools to counteract the fact that false but provocative spreads a lot faster than true but boring. That's human brains for you. It will take a lot of smart people like Elon to work out how to solve this problem in the era of mass communication. But we're not going back to governments and the media being in charge of what's true. Politicians and journalists are the two least trusted groups in society for a reason.

The Democratic Party's strategy is to beat President Trump in the courtroom rather than the ballot box. This will backfire in November. Even worse, it is profoundly undemocratic. America deserves a President who can win at the ballot box without compromising our government’s separation of powers or weaponizing the courts. You can’t save democracy by destroying it first. The Democrats are afraid they will lose in the voting booth, so instead they go after President Trump in the courtroom. I’m also running against President Trump in this election. The difference is I’m challenging him on his record. His lockdowns during Covid. His atrocious environmental record. His cozy relationship with corporate America. His support for the war machine. His failure to root out waste and corruption in Washington. His service to the billionaire class. His bloating of the national debt. These are the issues that shape American lives. I'll challenge him on these things, but the Democrats won't. You know why? Because they pursue the very same policies.

1) We’ve known that AZ and the JnJ vaccines had a rare risk of VITT. This was identified in 2021 and regulators as well as the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices acted accordingly. So, this is not news. 2) Glad to see you correct yourself. I hope that you do the same for the other things you’ve gotten wrong, or even correct your running-mate on his HIV/AIDS denial.

One of us took 3 doses of the Moderna mRNA vaccine, and the other did not. Guess who? Here is the devastating reality: it is not a safe vaccine, and must be recalled immediately. Many people are suffering who took it. For those who took it like I did, here are two accounts that provide some helpful insights and resources: 1.@MdBreathe 2.@P_McCulloughMD Jacob, I love you and your ridiculous shirts.

Yesterday, when responding to the news of Astra Zeneca admitting severe injuries from their own vaccine, I misnamed the CICP & NVICP (injury comp systems) with the VAERS reporting system.  I have the corrected descriptions below.  It is my sincere hope that the injured can receive fair compensation and that we continue to strive for safer vaccines.    The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) accepts reports on suspected vaccine injuries from injured individuals or their doctors and then analyzes those reports for validation and data collection.   The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) is a no-fault compensation system for those who allege vaccine injury from traditional vaccines.  All settlements are funded by taxpayers, not the manufacturers of the product.  5.2 billion dollars have been paid out to date.   The Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP) is similar to the NVICP, but focuses on the products considered countermeasures during a public health emergency like the Covid Vaccine. Thank you to everyone who reached out to me directly through private messages and texts to share your personal stories and experiences. It's heartening to see this level of engagement on such an important yet often neglected issue in our political discourse. I remain committed to being a voice for the voiceless and advocating for those who feel overlooked and ignored by those in power.
Nicole Shanahan@NicoleShanahan

In the United States, VAERS is the body that determines if someone injured by a vaccine can be compensated. Here’s the dirty truth: Tax payers cover all expenses for this (all legal fees and the payout), not the pharmaceutical company actually responsible for the injury. That means these companies can make you sick, get paid huge profits from selling the injections, and the taxpayers are the ones on the hook for their mistakes. As the Covid vaccine is proven to be responsible for more and more injuries, this scheme promises to take our country even further into debt. The correct course of action is to return to standard tort liability for all vaccine developers. It is the right thing for our country, for our budget, and is even in the best interest of the vaccine developers who will be held to a higher standard in safety.

@JamesGPalumbo @BillAckman @NicoleShanahan @CBS @RoKhanna I think it's all about ballot access. If everything goes according to plan, then the campaign will make an event out of filing for ballot access(following VP pick) in a whole bunch of states at the same time within 6ish weeks. If that brings the total to 20+, we're in for a ride.

.@CBS just sent this to me: “I have received a letter from Rep. Ro Khanna, intended for Nicole Shanahan, urging her to step down as RFK Jr.'s running mate. In the letter, Rep. Khanna warns Shanahan that supporting Kennedy could aid Trump's return to the White House and have negative environmental consequences. According to Khanna, Shanahan sought his advice before accepting Kennedy's offer. CBS News plans to publish this story tomorrow morning. If you would like to comment, please note that my deadline is this evening.” This is my full response to CBS (I want to bring this discussion back to the people, because I am beholden to you the people and not the corporate press): "In my conversation with Ro he congratulated me on the position and encouraged me to run, stating that every American has the right to run in this country. He stated that we live in a democracy, and it was wrong for anyone to threaten me against running. Clearly, Ro has changed his stance based on pressure from the party. I hope he understands how anti-democratic it is to ask someone to step down from a race that empowers the American public to make their own decisions. I am very disappointed that he has been pressured into issuing this letter to me publicly. He could have called me privately. He has my direct line."

I recommend watching Nato head Stoltenberg, talking to the EU parliament a few months ago, saying that russia basically warned them they'd invade Ukraine unless changes were made to Nato expansion plans. He said they "didn't even consider their plan". This was at the end of 2019, couple of months before the invasion, and when Biden warned Russia would invade, he had this information. If Nato leadership had been open about Russias proposal to limit expansion, it's quite likely people of the Nato nations had wanted the parties to hash out an agreement instead of this leading to an invasion as Nato pushed Putin into a corner from the russian perspective. Messy topic. No one is free from blame.

And Russia has a history of breaking peace agreements, so why should anyone think a peace deal now will ultimately end Russia’s aggression. Here are some examples: The Budapest Memorandum (1994): Russia violated this agreement by annexing Crimea in 2014, which was part of Ukraine. Minsk Agreements (2014 and 2015): Russia and Ukraine signed these agreements to end the conflict in eastern Ukraine, but they have not been fully implemented due to ongoing violations. Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (1990): Russia suspended its participation in this treaty in 2007, citing concerns about NATO expansion. Treaty on Open Skies (1992): Russia announced its intention to withdraw from this treaty in 2021, citing concerns about the United States' use of the treaty for intelligence gathering.

Ukraine has lost Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, most of Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia forever. If it doesn’t negotiate a peace deal now, it will also lose Kharkiv, Odesa, the rest of Kherson, and more. The flag wavers who think they’re helping Ukraine are just dismembering it.
