Inheritance is a dumb idea. Pass on your wealth while you’re alive. Kids don’t need help in their 50s to 70s. They need help in their 20s to 40s paying off debt, buying homes, raising children, and starting businesses.

We lost a lot of guys clearing Sangin and then training the ANA there. Within 3 years after my advisor tour, the Taliban had run them out. I have no idea how the generals and politicians expected anything different. We had the place locked down with a reinforced infantry battalion that had 2-3 times the headcount the Kandak had. How was a less capable unit, who couldn’t even count on resupplies, supposed to hold the ground with less soldiers?

I always get confused when I hear people say they never saw the collapse of the Afghan military coming. Anyone who’s been on the ground with them knew this. I saw an entire ANA battalion with modern American equipment get pinned down by 3 Taliban with AKs. Begging me for air support. How was this a surprise?

@StoneGrin @TraditionSarah The real money is being made by the for profit organizations that take money from veterans because the system is so broken that they can’t get help or advocacy without it.

Are we ready to talk about the real scam when it comes to VA disability. VA providers refusing to sign DBQs and provide nexus letters for patients they’ve seen for YEARS, leading to the veteran having to seek second opinions outside of the VA system (which cost money) just to potentially get a rating for a condition that’s well documented within the VA system with a provider they have tenure with. Conflict of interest my ass.

To all of the people complaining about VA Disability / Compensation. It’s part of the deal, part of what we were promised we joined. We did the crappy job that destroyed our body for nothing pay. You promised it on the back end.

@mrs_alyse And once again PTSD claims cannot be medically verified. There is no test available to prove what you are saying. Therefore anyone can make up stories about how they feel and then magically collect thousands of dollars a month for the rest of their life.

People discounting PTSD claims need to understand that there are different types. There is PTSD from one highly traumatic event. Another form comes from long exposures to stress (i.e. combat, abuse, neglect). Then, there's secondary trauma that is seen in medical personnel.
