@ac_wood I’ve currently got a class 43 with 3 carriages and a trailing car, a class 31 with 9 coal fish wagons (as seen in video) and a J15 with 14 wagons. Flex is not a problem but much longer is a bit unwieldy if you want to spin it 180° to run it in the other direction.
@StonebridgeMod1 Great solution! What sort of length rake do you use it for - and what sort of length do you think it would work for before it flexes too much?
New train storage system in absence of room for a fiddle yard. 50mm trunking from Toolstation, 3d print brackets, end stops and connecting pieces providing track alignment and electrical contacts via DuPont pins. #TMRGUK
Designed a holder for the Gaugemaster Prodigy controller. Used Fusion 360 and printed on a Bambu Labs A1. Put 3 round the layout, each with a socket wired back to the base station. Tidies things up a bit. #TMRGUK
@PaterPracticus Hoping one of these interiors will my first proper test of the Bambu Labs A1 that came today (pity the filament is arriving separately!!). Thanks so much for sharing.
New Composite Corridor interior joins my growing range of 3D printable Lima Mk1 replacements. Just BSK and full brake to go. All free to download here: paterpracticus.com/lima-coach-int…
Bambu Labs A1 3d printer arrived today. Very impressed so far. Filament should be here tomorrow but the 20g supplied was enough for a couple of test prints. #TMRGUK
@Clydebridge47 It was just a single, non powered track under the main track but recently I’ve moved it to my work area as a diarama as I can have it at a higher level so enjoy looking at it.
First section of underground station diorama done. It’s will sit below the baseboard and have a single 38 tube stock car sitting there. Deciding how little I can get away with buying from Bachmann spares. Body £30. Bogies £12. Make the under frame. #TMRGUK
Fantastic service from FK3d prints. Ordered a class 33 cab set and the detail is amazing. Unfortunately it was a bit too large. Couple of emails later and they are reprinting to my spec. Really great service. #tmrguk
It's Modelling Monday again! We're sure you're starting to make your Christmas lists full of modelling items, but if you're stuck, our Christmas gift guide is out this week!
As always on a Monday we want to see what you've been working on, so leave your pictures below!
Many thanks to @Hornby for providing this free of charge after I ordered the part on the service sheet which had the part number incorrectly printed. Great service. #hornby#tmrguk
Great service from @DapolRailways. Needed new driveshafts for the class 121 but no one stocks them now. Rang Dapol and they said to send them back (free post) and that they’ll replace them FOC. New design arrived today. #TMRGUK#dapol
Finally picked up a 38 stock driving carriage to sit in the underground station. Very happy with it - especially with the signage as my dad was station manager at Elephant & Castle in the 60s and 70s. #TMRGUK
@DanderhallR There is a problem that it really looks best at eye level so it’s hard to see in when operating the layout. Not sure how to solve that one other than put it on slight upward angle. Wanted it to be an eye catching feature as you walk into the room.
@DanderhallR I’ve just built this to sit under the layout. Won’t be a running line, just a diorama effectively. Looking for a 38 stock driving car to sit in it but no luck yet. May get parts from Bachmann spares and build a static one. #TMRGUK
