Similarly, Brown garners 84% support among Democrats, while Husted is drawing 70% of the Republican vote, and independent voters are split with 48% for Brown and 49% for Husted.

With MS Rep Bennie Thompson facing a primary tonight, I wanted to revisit the ‘94 election where he won his first full term.
Thompson was held to 53% in his VRA CD, his lowest ever vote share, amid a GOP wave. All this while the 3 ConservaDems Sonny Montgomery, Michael Parker & Gene Taylor all easily held their seats, as MS still leaned Dem down ballot.
However, Roger Wicker was able to take MS-01 after the retirement of New Deal Dem Jamie Whitten, a sign of the future R takeover of the state.
