@incognito0225 I would just wait for an audit. They wasted your time, go ahead and waste some of theirs

Why I hate the IRS!
A few weeks ago I received a letter from the IRS saying I would be receiving a letter explaining the problem that they were having with my income tax return which was holding up my meager return.
My wife and I are retired and get a 1099 from my pension and one from her Social Security. I also get one from my investment brokerage for dividends.
I use TurboTax and take the standard deduction.
I worried that I made some kind of mistake, but I’m very thorough and both of us double checked this simple return before filing.
Today I got the much anticipated letter from the IRS and hastily opened it.
They wanted me to prove the income tax that I claimed I had paid.
Duh, they get copies of those 1099s so I couldn’t understand what the problem was.
I pulled out my copies and sure enough what I claimed was accurate, so I tried to take advantage of their website to resolve this issue, as their letter suggested.
I created an account and found that there is no way to upload documents even though they claim that there.
I’m computer literate so I analyzed their website for something resembling a means to upload, but
it doesn’t exist.
Disgusted after wasting nearly an hour and creating yet another account on ID me, which required photographing your drivers license front and back and then doing a video of your face to confirm it’s you, which was also in vain.
Consequently, I’m now going to mail it in and await their final judgment concerning this ludicrous inquiry.
All of this for a $501.00 return done with three 1099s, and taking the standard deduction.
This is what gets the IRS’s attention.🤦♂️
With all the fraud that goes on you would think that they had more important issues to address, but no they are nitpicking the little guy.
BTW: The state had no such problem with the return and paid my overage in a very timely manner.

@ShannonBream You don't fly spirit airlines, without saying you don't fly spirit airlines.

I fly. A. Lot. One place I can say chivalry is not dead is on flights. On nearly every flight I take I see men of all ages offering to help women of all ages with heavy bags they are putting in/taking out of overhead bins. I’ve never seen a woman get offended or refuse the help. Not saying that never happens, I just haven’t witnessed it. But thank you to the good dudes who offer! (My luggage is one of the primary reasons I lift 2-3 times a week, so I can get it done when I need to!)

@Write4Republic No, sorry. Determine your own level of involvement. Want to eat food you know is bad for you? Your health will reflect that. They lose the "affordability" scapegoat, if you've seen the prices at McDonalds in the last 5 years.
Personal accountability > reforms.

@dustoff_1sg “It’s revolution time!” - posted a full year after the act that caused this feeling and yet not a single act of revolt has been done, 😂

@Scott_Wiener What you said to @nickshirleyy was vile and reprehensible. Not something a state representative should ever utter. You're a disgrace.

@doogadoo11 It happened to me as well, another glitch in the matrix.
