Giancarlo Galavotti was one of life’s great characters. He spent many years covering England for Gazzetta and was such a familiar face in English football. He had so many friends among us. RIP Giancarlo. Gone but not forgotten. Much love ❤️

After 25 years, 24 of them covering @ManUtd and @ManCity, I’m leaving @DailyMirror and @MirrorFootball
I’ve been privileged to cover more than 1,000 games in @premierleague, @ChampionsLeague @EuropaLeague @EmiratesFACup and @Carabao_Cup as well as reporting on six @FIFAWorldCup and three @UEFAEURO tournaments, not to mention earning at least half a dozen bans from Sir Alex Ferguson!
It’s been an honour to work with so many talented and loyal colleagues, past and present, many of whom have become great friends.
As one door closes, another one opens, and I’m excited to explore new professional opportunities.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me and read my work over the past quarter of a century - even the haters and the trolls!

Wonderful, lovely tribute to a wonderful, lovely man. JC was great company and a one off. I recall his one bar electric fire he took to Birmingham City’s press box (pre health and safety). Everybody was laughing but he had the last laugh because we were freezing. God bless JC

I'm gonna miss you so much, thanks for being you, for always looking after me and not least for opening Old Trafford up when I, as a young man unannounced came in to your reception, asking if it was possible to see the pitch for just one minute. You had no idea who I was, no idea that I one day would be playing for your beloved team, but you got the gate opened and I got my first glimpse at the most beautiful football stadium in the world. At the time I didn't know that I would spend most afternoons sat next to you sorting out my fan mail having a cup of tea and a chat. Mancheter united through and through, with the heart and soul of the club ingrained in you, that's how I will remember you. Coming to Old Trafford in the future will be different from now on. Rest in peace Kath ❤️🤍🖤

As a fellow Fallowfield lad I was privileged to see Paul’s two-goal debut v WBA at Maine Road in 67-68. Honoured then to become an MEN colleague. We had some bloody good laughs in the office and on our travels. A fund of hilarious stories. God bless Hincey.
