@AvidCommentator Voted today in Victor Harbor. from what I overheard waiting in line - a lot of people are voting one nation for the first time, Labor 2nd preference. Not because they necessarily agree with ONP but because they want to give labor a kick up the ass.

@AvidCommentator Yep agree. Nothing like 91 or 03 Iraq - US literally had an invasion force of 300k Army, Marines etc build up beforehand. More than enough air assets to do serious damage - but I can see an invasion of any kind in Iran.

When comparing the U.S military buildups for the 1991 and 2003 Iraq wars with the present, there is a major difference, the components for a major ground invasion just aren't there. On the other hand the U.S air assets in the region are sufficient to undertake a major campaign. One suspects that this forms part of the Trump administration's strategy. Rather than invading Iran, they may instead destroy the military targets and infrastructure that allows the Iranian government to hold on to power and for Iran to function. If all that it is taken away, then eventually its open season until someone with enough clout is ready to make a deal. (This is about what I think may happen, not anything more)
