The average landlord being like why do these rentoids get mad at me when I feel entitled enough to pass on the full cost of my investment to them (whilst simultaneously increasing the cost of housing and also benefitting from massive tax discounts purely because I own multiple homes)

@dchoj @purplepingers @preem1nent He still bears 60-70% lost and that’s without insurance, management’s fees, rates and up keep, so should that whole list be passed onto the people renting the house? lol

@SIGKILL @wheelreinvent havnet seen it for a while but usually like every 6 months or so. I do shift so theres a good chance ive missed any recent ones. They put cops on both sides of the intersection. It's crazy cause they are pinging people riding in a separated cycleway.

@Studibranch @wheelreinvent when do they usually do it? I've been riding there nearly every day for ages, the only time I saw cops there is when there was weapons expo nearby, and they didn't pay attention to me

Imagine if you could do this in Melbourne or Sydney. Instead, Melbourne preferred to let its similar bike share scheme fail rather than exempt it from helmet laws - meaning less bikes, more cars on the road, and thus more head injuries. Idiotic policymaking.

@SIGKILL @wheelreinvent in the Sydney cbd, the cops do a blitz at least once a year and sit on the corner of pyrmont bridge rd where it joins pyrmont bridge. I think at this stage they need to change helmet laws and do a massive infrastructure build to get these bikes off the road. the fine is $400

@wheelreinvent Helmet laws in Sydney are effectively unenforceable at this point: half of share bikes don’t have them, they are very popular, and most people ride them helmetless. I ride them nearly every day without a helmet, cops ignore it.

@RyanO_ChosenCoy Whilst Ukraine is in dire need of AD systems. Iran isn't Iraq or Afghanistan, it has the potential to cause far greater damage than both combined. You willing to put more US troops in the dirt for Israeli regional hegemony?

Bret Weinstein says that if he could go back, he would not vaccinate his newborn children. “I believe the adverse events from regular old vaccines are far more common than we imagine, including things like allergies.” “I believe that my allergy to wheat is likely the result of an adjuvant that caused my immune system to react to something normal in my gut in a way that I will never be free from.” “One of my sons has seasonal allergies that are significant enough to get in his way.” “The other has an allergy to dairy… What I now think is that he developed an allergy very early, probably from an adjuvant in a childhood vaccine.” “Given all of that education that I have now painfully received, if I had it to do all over again, I would not end up giving any vaccines to my newborn children.” “I’m not saying it’s impossible that any of them are more beneficial than they are harmful, but I now know that I cannot trust the safety testing.”

23% of all Mexicans live in the United States (39 million). There were barely 4 million Mexicans in the US in 1960. Remittances from the US to Mexico top $64 BILLION. Some $9.3 billion comes from Texas, another $21 billion from California. America needs mass deportations!

It seems police resources for a time-consuming march to Parliament House were not made available on Monday. One officer at the Bathurst Street end outside Townhall commenting that his shift finishes at 9pm. Was there management pressure to have it all wrapped up by 9pm?

This is the problem with property investors. You got a bloke who’s like 24 living at home with his parents and half his wage goes to holding IP’s. There’s no way he’s going to maintain the places or fix anything because he wouldn’t have the cash

@ClareONeilMP 5% deposit just raises prices and makes our mortgages even more unnafordable. It’s great to build more but that can’t be the only policy. You need to actually have some policies to bring prices down rather than onboarding new home owners into the housing ponzi

There's been a lot of coverage about Labor's 5% Deposits Scheme being uncapped yesterday. And rightfully so. It's good news for first home buyers as it will help people save for a deposit quicker, slashing the time it takes to buy a home. But equally as deserving of attention is the decision by the Inner West Council to put forward a new rezoning plan to deliver another 30,000 homes across the LGA. We know that the long term fix for our housing problems is to build more homes, and seeing councils take bold steps like this is incredibly heartening. It shouldn't be underestimated - this was a difficult, brave and important decision that will significantly improve housing opportunities for Sydney's Inner West, and see the rollout of some really innovative social housing reforms. Sadly - but unsurprisingly - this was a decision opposed by both the Liberal Party and the Greens. Only Labor councillors supported a plan to deliver more housing. So next time you hear Liberals talk about improving housing supply, and Greens talk about social housing, remember this decision. Despite the rhetoric, on housing at least, the Liberals and the Greens really are just two sides of the same NIMBY coin. They talk a big game but when the rubber hits the road, they do what they always do - block progress. Labor’s the party of building more homes and making it easier for first home buyers to buy them. So well done to @InnerWestCouncil and congratulations to @SydneyYIMBY for your strong advocacy.

RIP the legendary David Stratton who not only was monitored by ASIO for suspected communist sympathies but also once gave a film - 'The Replacements' - zero stars because "It is a film which celebrates strike-breakers and scabs". Read the transcript here: letterboxd.com/margaret_david…
