Winnipeg hit a heat index of 114 today. That coupled with 80 degree dewpoints and giant plague like misquotes made for a lovely day up there. I'd still take that over 20° any day. Who is with me?

🌍 No, that's not smoke. No, it's not chemicals. What you're looking at is a plume of Saharan dust that traveled over 5,000 miles from the Sahara Desert across the Atlantic and into the Gulf of Mexico. This happens naturally every summer thanks to strong easterly trade winds. Besides creating some incredible sunrises and sunsets, the dust can make skies look hazy, reduce air quality a bit for sensitive groups, and even help suppress tropical development by bringing drier, more stable air into parts of the Atlantic. Every year, social media claims this is something new or man-made. It isn't. Forecasters have been tracking Saharan dust events with weather satellites for decades, and they're a completely normal part of Earth's atmosphere. Science is pretty cool when you realize a desert in Africa can influence weather thousands of miles away. 🌎

Screw Illinois. 2026 is the year of Canada. The U.S. doesn’t know what discrete supercells are this year, but Canada does!

12 flights in all round trip, 22 hours in the air today (ish) I’m finally back and ready for some much needed R&R visiting family and friends. I am wiped out but the strange thing is I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am headed to a family union in Beaverville, Illinois this weekend. This town apparently has no cell service, no grocery stores, not even a gas station. I don’t even know where I’m sleeping. If I don’t make it, can someone make sure to feed my Goldfish, general Grievous
