I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to see my doc The Devil Is Busy which is nominated for an Oscar as Best Documentary Short Film, directed by Christalyn Hampton and Geeta Gandbhir. The film follows a religious security guard trying to protect the emotional and physical safety of women she escorts into an Atlanta abortion clinic after the Supreme Court took away national protections.
Geeta is also making history as the first woman to be nominated in both the short and feature categories for her Netflix film The Perfect Neighbor.

Criminals have a hard time being successful in Mt. Juliet, and that’s no accident. Our officers are out every day being proactive—not waiting on crime to come to them, but stopping it before it reaches our neighborhoods. That kind of dedication protects our community, and it’s what everyone who lives, works, and visits here deserves. People should be able to live in peace, and our team works hard every day to make sure that happens.

While patrolling Providence Marketplace tonight, one of our officers spotted a vehicle illegally parked in a handicapped space in front of HomeGoods. The engine was running, and in plain view were crack pipes on the dashboard and what appeared to be stolen merchandise scattered throughout the car. Moments later, a woman exited the store—on her second trip inside—to shoplift even more items. She was in possession of a tool used to remove anti-theft devices. The 55-year-old Nashville woman was arrested and charged with Theft of Merchandise, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving on a Revoked Driver’s License. We’re grateful for the vigilance of our officers. Their proactive patrols help ensure those who come to Mt. Juliet to commit crime are not successful and continue to ensure MJ remains one of the safest communities around.

Our #MJGuardianShield license plate reader system led to the recovery of yet another stolen car from Nashville this morning. The 2012 Nissan Sentra was stolen on 1/15 from an apartment complex on East Thompson Lane after the owner left it running and unlocked to quickly run inside their apartment. As the suspect fled the parking lot, it was involved in an hit-and-run crash. This morning, #MJGuardianShield alerted officers to the stolen car as it entered the city limits, and it was intercepted on Central Pike near Cooks Rd. A 24-year-old LaVergne female, driving on a revoked driver’s license, was apprehended.

@Stylesfor32 this bldg has been vacant for quite a while now. If I might I would suggest a good barbecue place. Probably not appealing to Martin’s or Edley’s…. Maybe Jack Cawthon or an upstart. Maybe Mission Barbecue. The focus should be on the food not alcohol.

Positive outcomes are difficult when resources are not present. Some of our peer cuties are giving between 10-20 million a year and art is a huge part of their tourism and overall persona.
