Hot off the press, our heat geniuses have found ways to slash the manufacture and install costs of heat pumps. We’ve specially designed our very own heat pump. It'll be ready to go in the second half of the year. Welcome to the future of home heating. telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/…

Without immediate action from the Govt, around 7 million households will face an impossible winter, forced to choose between heating & eating. That’s why we have joined over 60 charities in writing to @RishiSunak calling on him to implement the solutions to this crisis.

@MartinaOlb But I really relate to your observation and wish more people checked in on themselves (including me) more often. With expanded awareness we come to see we are NOT our mind, thank goodness!

@MartinaOlb While each person is in their own head, one speaking out of need/boredom/obligation, and the other not really listening but thinking about their positioning there’s no true communication. It’s just noise!

It's unbelievable how much of communication is "proving myself to the other person and projecting my own stuff onto them because I have an unmet need to feel important" instead of "listening to what the other person is saying and responding to what they are saying to add value".

@SublimeFutures Not as much a struggle to overcome as the struggle to find one single person who doesn't do it. There aren't that many actually. It takes a lot of inner work to become consciously present. Once you understand mental patterns people are prone to, communication gets kinda funny. ;)

@MartinaOlb It’s self-judgement. The need to feel important, or recognition is real though. I find this happens more in dialogue with people we are no so close (or socially safe), hence, the mind is busy working out strategies to outsmart the possibility of being outsmarted! Vicious circle

@SublimeFutures But what you said made me curious though. Why would somebody fear judgment if they're projecting themselves in a situation where no one is judging them because it's not about them? It's self-judgment really. That is the thing to fear and overcome. No one is judging us.

@MartinaOlb I totally agree! It’s usually the case, the struggle to overcome makes us a specialist in the subject, doesn’t it?

@SublimeFutures I'm always honest. :) Thanks for reading, Laura! It's a particularly pervasive mental distortion. And I see it especially in helping professions that focus on developing & helping others. Those people are usually in desperate need of help themselves which is why they help others.

Currently, Boris Johnson’s speeches contain the “greed is good” ethic to justify selling off Channel 4 to private investors. (Apparently, we need another Netflix!!?). If you disapprove of greed used for political purposes you can sign @UKChange’s petition: chng.it/wJFzPRLk
