We play to win, and fitness is vital to football so our players can cover the many kilometers in a 90-minute match. But do you know why it’s even more important? Because it strengthens the heart 🧡 This World Heart Day (29 September), we’re joining @WorldHeartFederation to remind everyone about the power of a strong heart. Our players follow a strict fitness regime and undergo regular heart screenings given the cardiovascular demands of the sport. We want to bring our fans along on this journey. We urge you to weave in 25-30 minutes of daily exercise: be it brisk walking, running, yoga, playing a sport, or dancing to improve blood circulation, lower blood pressure and most importantly, prevent heart disease. If you’re in Goa, there’s nothing like a walk on the beach! Remember, every heart matters. Don’t Miss A Beat. 🫀🫶🏻⚽🏃🏼‍➡️

For over a decade, Dr Ganesh from Medicare Hospital, Pune, has seen the mixed emotions when a girl child is born—joy and sorrow in equal measure. In 2012, he noticed how a girl child was unwelcome, mothers were humiliated, and relatives behaved as if someone had died during the birth of the little one. Refusing to remain silent in the face of such injustice, Dr Ganesh took a bold stand by launching a campaign to fight female infanticide and gender discrimination. On the very first day of his mission, he was called "crazy" for celebrating the birth of a girl by distributing sweets, but that didn’t deter him. In the campaign's first year, he waived fees for 130 babies, a gesture that gained nationwide media attention and inspired other doctors to join the cause. Over the years, Dr Ganesh has delivered more than 2,000 girl babies for free, earning heartfelt gratitude from parents. His mission continues to celebrate the true value of every girl child, embodying the phrase "Ghar ki Laxmi" with every life he touches. @DrGaneshRakh #GirlChild #GenderEquality #WomenEmpowerment #ChangeMakers #FemaleInfanticide

Jannik Sinner told his parents he’d stop playing tennis if he wasn't in top 200 by age 23 because they didn't have the money: "I told them if I'm 23 or 24 & not in the top 200, I would stop playing because we couldn't afford it with the money we had”

Couldn't agree more. India desperately needs a tax on sugar content. Think it's linked to increased risk of heart disease, which is what most Indians are currently losing their lives to.

@IndianTechGuide It’s interesting to note that many traditional Indian diets are actually quite healthy, focusing on whole grains, vegetables, and spices. Balancing these with modern habits could improve overall health.

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic.

@lawriecolaco Gosh. Goa really needs to work on making driving safe. We're losing too many people on the road, and this needs to be fixed asap. #SafeDrivingInGoa

Breaking: Congress now says if India alliance comes to power, they will give 10 kg free food grain per month to poor. The Modi govt is giving 5 kg already. Has the opposition woken up too late? As I have been saying repeatedly (including on Democratic Newsroom only yday), this is the ‘rashan’/ration election. The poor are tired of rousing speeches and tall promises, their focus is on basic livelihoood issues. The poor are the voting class, the rich are the complaining class in India. #BattleFor2024
