President @realDonaldTrump is about to submit to a political defeat that in modern history, only Jimmy Carter had to face. Even a U.S. military victory is now in question, as the Strait of Hormuz has become a major bargaining chip for the terrorist mullahs, and other malign activities perpetrated by the Islamic Republic regime have taken the backseat. Opening the Strait militarily would have deprived the regime of this leverage and revived US military might, but the President handed the strait to the IRGC on a silver platter. This is precisely correct and it is unavoidable. Trying to spin Obama-era language into something we should support is nuts since we were all alive and active when the JCPOA came into being. The bottom line is we appear incredibly weak and are giving far too much upfront. Also the concept of giving funds to Iran and calling it "limited and reversible" is nonsense. Once you give Iran cash, it is gone. You don't get it back.
