@D__Manuel @doctrLakes You people know exactly what you are all doing😂. I said the whole team I didn't exempt anyone, your post made it sound like the nurse should be held solely responsible! Everyone in the Op room had a role to play in patient safety

So sorry for your loss This should be said too, that in cases like this, the person primarily responsible to ensure surgical equipments and mops are not forgotten is actually the periop nurse I know doctors ultimately bears the brunts for negligences like this but you can't exempt the periop nurse, you shouldn't Top part of the function of a periop nurse in surgery is to GIVE and RECEIVE surgical equipments and to COUNT and ENSURE what is given is received by her. Often, surgeons double check to save their heads
OREOFE@Oreofe_06

A doctor forgot a scissors in my sister stomach after surgery and we lost her 😭 On the 28th March 2026 my sister okolie ngozi blessing ,went for a fibroid surgery at OAR medical center in ilepo abule egba ( igoke estate) ,which led to the beginning of of my sister dilemma .The operation was said to be successful 3 days after the surgery(on March 31st) my sister was complaining about serious stomach pain ,and her stomach started bloating ,we suggested that the hospital should run a scan to know what is going on but they refused telling us even if we do scan we can’t see anything that will cause for Alarm ,but the severe stomach pain didn’t stop . After the back and forth for 10 days (April 7th) after the surgery they finially referred us to a clinic to do scan, and a nurse from the hospital followed,on getting to the clinic ,we found out they don’t even have a scanning equipment 🤦‍♀️.we decided to take her to another clinic to run a scan ,the nurse that followed was against it but we insisted .The scan result showed that they left An Artery forceps in my sister stomach 😭🤦‍♀️. We got back to the hospital showed them the result they decided on operating her immediately but as at then my sister was already too weak for another operation we begged them to refer us to a better hospital they refused and went ahead with the operation. Two days after the second surgery, she was still weak, her stomach still swollen. We kept on begging them to refer her, but they refused😭. On April 11, around 3 a.m.when their fuel finished while she was on oxygen, and they said they don’t have fuel again. We took her out of OAR Medical Centre and drove her to LASUTH . Six days before we took her out of the hospital Dr Abiodun Ojifinn, was nowhere to be found. Every time we called, he kept saying he would come the next day, but he never showed up. At Lasuth, they asked us to pay for the ICU immediately which we did, and she was admitted. Just one day in the ICU, they told us her heart had stopped. My sister Blessing Okolie could no longer breathe. Cc: Zubby Allstreet

1. Tobi Bakre. A natural. That man will stay on the screen for a long time. Btw this is the softest he has ever acted in a movie and he killed it. His tears got me emotional and I was glad he proved loyalty despite being irresponsible. 2. Ibrahim chatta did so amazing well. I expected loyalty from him, but I won’t blame him for attempting to sell the car since the family were already selling them. 3. Funke Akindele murdered every single role. She once again proved why she is the GOAT. Her betraying her sister by owning a house was enough to tell she would do more damage. She was very good at gaslighting. 4. Destiny Etiko and Debo k!lled every single scene. It barely felt like a movie. Destiny’s constant crying made me emotional. Family isn’t by blood but by loyalty. 5. This is my first time watching Vee on screen and she did amazingly well. Hope to see her more on screen. She bodied her character and she was funny. 6. Scarlet Gomez did perfectly well. As the main character she delivered beyond expectations. Being good always gets you used. She was surrounded by users and a very few loyal people. 6. Uzor has always been a natural. Hurts me he had to d!e in the character. He stood by his bestie till his demise. 7. Kamo state is crazy and funny. He did absolutely well. That guy is a born Agbero 8. The watoni twins did absolutely well. Hope they get more screen time. I called them ibeji Oran in the character cos they were clearly possessed. Behind the scene was a classic. Thumbs up to Funke Akindele again 👏👏

@doctrLakes Then maybe take your time to expatiate when you can, rather than reduce it to gender war. I work in a government hospital and we don’t “carry trays”. It has nothing to do with feminism or misandry, it’s more about autonomy and responsibility.

@doctrLakes Agreed, but that’s not the bone of contention. We join in Ward rounds but we do not “carry trays” for you to do your procedures. At best, we’ll position your supplies where you can easily access it.

Please take over bathing of babies too. Some nurses have poor manual dexterity. You don’t want babies you’ve been taking care of to fall right?

@HubWendy I have been in a hospital where a nurse catheterised the vaginal for a woman going in for myomectomy So many other repeated errors! Nurses would rush Ca Gluconate, Aminophylline. Medications you're supposed to give over 30mins.

@HubWendy @ObaniyiLOJ There’s Chimamanda Adichie’s son too, but you don’t see nurses clamoring to replace doctors in Anesthesia. Heck! We have Nurse Anesthetists who can’t even practice because of their policies

Woah! You mean the vjay instead of the urethral opening?😳😳. That’s bäd 🥺🥺🥺, one thing I do shamelessly is to also ask for help or clarity whenever I’m lost or overwhelmed. lol 😂! Should we have this conversation, Dr.? I have also seen a HO struggle with central line, he was supposed to place the patient on TPN but didn’t even know how to begin, sounds funny, he doesn’t even know how to flush! Yes, the patient relative was actually shouting at him, guess who helped him, I did. If you like believe it or not. Did I see him less? No! Did I bláme him for being clueless? No! Mind you, I was an intern while the said doctor was a house officer before you say I have been working there for long. I have also heard about a HO officer punctured blood bag during transfusion because it wasn’t flowing because they do it with IV fluids but thank God the Ward Nurse noticed on time and discontinued the transfusion. Was it not also a Doctor âbi student doctor, anyone that malpracticed, hence the deat h Veteran Nollywood actor, Eucharia Anunubi’s only son? Should I continue? So Âbeg!

Not MD crying that every other profession wants to ste al their job description when they are the ones always meddling. Doctors will cannulate Doctors will transfuse Doctor will Catheterize Doctor will draw blo od in the ward Doctors will give IV meds Why don’t you guys add NG tube feeding to your job description, even wound dressing self, Igwe 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Lmao 🤣 You all said nurses are doing nothing or have little or nothing to do in the ward, leave our little job for us niiii. Very soon, doctors will start doing nursing handover or probably start joining nurses for report writing and handover.

Not to take away any criticism of MDCN but about that bill, there are many people who should get lotta focus too The Minister of Health and Justice drafted and reviewed the bill (not MDCN) which was approved by FEC and presented by BAT to 109 Senators where it passed 1st reading

Does being petite in nursing make patients take you less seriously?? Because tell me why I’ve been warning a patient, she ignored me…but immediately obeyed when a “bigger” colleague said the same thing 🥲 Is it stature or perceived authority??Nurses, kindly share your opinion.

If you're good at NHS nursing interview preparation, clinical scenarios, and scoring frameworks, let's host a Space together. The goal is to help nurses prepare better, understand what interview panels expect, and increase their chances of success.
