however much sleep you *think* you need, you can probably cut a few hours and still perform at the highest levels. cut 15-30 minutes everyday until you reach your goal (6 hours if you’re a heavy sleeper now, 4-5 hours if not) i personally did this and have gone several months on 4-5 hours, and this was pre-modafinil. sleep less.
Lawrence Elliot@LawrenceElliots

Why aren’t we sleep fasting? Since periodically restricting my sleep, I have trained myself to function (better) on less I used to require 7-8 hours. I am now outperforming on 5-6. Contrast therapy - accepted. Fasting - accepted. HIIT - accepted. Deliberate sleep restriction - never discussed. Hormesis applies universally across every biological system (except the one the wellness industry monetises most aggressively) The pattern across all hormetic interventions is identical: 1. controlled acute stress 2. recovery 3. supercompensation. We know: - The dose makes the poison. - The recovery makes the adaptation. (This is not controversial in any domain except sleep) What else do we know? Sleep deprivation triggers BDNF upregulation. (Brain-derived neurotrophic factor - The same molecule everyone celebrates when discussing exercise, meditation, and learning). Drummond's imaging data shows the brain recruiting compensatory networks under sleep debt - Parietal regions dormant during comfortable, well-rested cognition suddenly activate. Periodic sleep fasting, employed strategically + paired with proper recovery, accesses adaptive mechanisms that build resilience. (Resilience that 8 hour regularity cannot achieve) We’ll see how long it takes Huberman and the like to catch on

Israel rolls from Operation Roaring Lion (“Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8) straight into Operation Eternal Darkness, and Christians are somehow still confused about what they’re looking at.

@gregg_re @fandompulse @KeenanPeachy Climate change wasn’t political in the 90s, you had George Bush Sr warning about it etc. when it was proven C02 was an existential threat, the giant fossil fuel industries amassed a lobbying arm like none other, and that lobbying is why CC deniers believe what they believe today

Project Hail Mary writer Andy Weir on social commentary in books: "I dislike social commentary. Like… I really hate it. When I’m reading a book, I just want to be entertained, not preached at by the author. Plus, it ruins the wonder of the story if I know the author has a political or social axe to grind. I no longer speculate about all possible outcomes of the story because I know for a fact that the universe of that book will conspire to ensure that the author’s political agenda is validated. I hate that." "I put no politics or social commentary into my stories at all. Anyone who thinks they see something like that is reading it in on their own. I have no point to make, and I’m not trying to affect the reader’s opinion on anything. My sole job is to entertain, and I stick to that." "To that end, I also don’t talk about my personal political opinions publicly. I don’t want readers to even know, honestly. I don’t want that in the back of their minds as they read my stuff." Is this why he has the #1 sci-fi movie in decades?

Dark humor like that from TheBurntPeanut can land differently depending on who’s listening. Events like September 11 attacks carry deep pain and loss for many people, and it’s important to balance freedom of expression with empathy and respect. Everyone has the right to speak freely but also the responsibility to be mindful of how words can affect others especially when it comes to tragedies that impacted so many lives.

TheBurntPeanut made a 9/11 joke after someone in chat said stop spoiling a TV show from the 1900's 💀 "they literally have pagers at the episode I'm at, that's like 1995.. They don't even know 9/11 is coming"

@EWErickson They conclude it because most of the Christians they see *are* weak. Youre not a self staying monster choosing forgiveness. Youre just not capable of much else than passivity and firmly worded letters. You dont have to be a terrorist for people to fear crossing you.

Tl;dr: Exercise → brain processes it → body adapts. Remove the middle step and nothing happens. I'm a neuroscientist writing about improving cognitive performance - join 110k on my newsletter: brainhealthdecoded.com/subscribe Full paper: cell.com/neuron/fulltex…

A signal in your brain - fired AFTER exercise - decides whether your body adapts at all. Block it? Training did nothing. Boost it? 2x the work output and 3x the endurance gains. This might be the most important exercise paper in years. Here's what they found 🧵

USAA SETS GOAL OF OUTSOURCING 80% OF ITS JOBS TO INDIA by 2030! Stealing an American company built with the help of Veterans? I’m a Veteran and cancelling ALL my USAA accounts. The @usaa is complete INDIAN SCUM.
Matt Forney@mattforney

EXCLUSIVE: an insider at USAA provides footage of the company's recent Diwali event. It looks like a Tim and Eric skit. Remember, while USAA throws parties for Indians, it ignores American holidays and its veteran employees are committing suicide from stress and layoffs.

Also, why call this individual "Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi" other than the desire of David Ellison and Bari Weiss for him to rule Iran? He hasn't been to Iran in almost 50 years. Even he admits his life has nothing to do with that country.

Gary Brecka just exposed why you can crush pasta in Italy and feel amazing… but eat the same in America and crash hard: In 1993, the US started enriching (aka spraying) all flour, bread, pasta, cereal with synthetic folic acid — a lab-made chemical that doesn’t exist in nature. Europe didn’t. So your bowl of pasta abroad = energy. Here = blood sugar rollercoaster, mood crash, fatigue. Solution? Switch to non-enriched / organic versions of grains, rice, pasta, bread. 43-sec clip — the hidden difference in your food Who’s already hunting for non-enriched pasta/bread?

Just watched a video that has me laughing so hard I had to sit down. A Second Amendment concealed carrier was talking to the police after a break-in… and this man was ‘giddy’. He said the burglar “finally gave him a customer dumb enough to come into his house.” You could hear the excitement in his voice… like he’d been waiting his whole life for this moment. And you are NOT going to believe what happens next… @JackPosobiec @libsoftiktok @catturd2 Stay tuned… because this one proves exactly why the Founders wrote the Second Amendment the way they did. #SilentMajoritySpeaks #AStoneGroove

The shutdown could in theory last to 2027. Because unlike past shutdowns, there’s no debt ceiling to scare financial markets. Nobody needs a deal. If that miracle happens, “non-essential” layoffs are permanent. And we start paying down national debt by the trillions.

SOMETHING MOVED THE EARTH - AND ISN'T STOPPING During the last few hours, the Earth has vibrated intensely, sustaining a constant, luminous, and deliberate wave of energy. It's as if the heart of the planet has entered a conscious beat, beating in harmony with something much greater. Many are feeling it — and it's not imagination: 💫 buzzing in my ears 💫head or chest pressure 💫 light sleep, vivid dreams 💫 mood swings or energy spikes These signs aren't "symptoms" — they're symptoms. The Earth is calling you to her rhythm, to the compass of New Frequency. Breathe. Again. Silence. Today, the planet didn't just rotate — it woke up a little more. 💙 Elah'Shiara GRATITUDE, LOVE & LIGHT Magda Bicca Vieira. COPYRIGHT © 2025 MAGDA BICCA VIEIRA - ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
