@ja99491 Pure syllogism. If the French, heir of the Franks and of the Gauls, why do they speak modern French and not Celtic ? Hebrew has been reinvented by the Hebrew university in the 1920s, and Arabic is heir to Aramaic. On the opposite, Yiddish is an Eastern European langage.

If Palestinians are indigenous to the land, why is their primary language Arabic, a language that originated in the Arabian Peninsula, while Hebrew originated in and has been continuously associated with the Land of Israel for thousands of years? The Arab conquests of the 7th century brought Arabic language and culture to the region.

But they are even more scared of any political void. Not surprising.

In Yougoslavia, Tito was wise enough to put a Croatian to run Croatia, a Bosnian to rule Bosnia…
