@goodalexander Well, this stuff is still under development, so nothing much now. A big VC fund is talking about paying me to just work on it though as a kind of researcher-in-residence. I'm mostly making it for my own use and to show off the power of my agent-flywheel.com system at scale.

conspiracy theory: openai keeps resetting usage limits so we are all on the same weekly schedule this front-loads inference compute usage to the reset time to predictably free up more gpus later in the week for training

@skeptrune GPT four was roughly 24 times more expensive than GPT five the cost for GPT 5.5 level model will be lower in a year then it will be today. Maybe frontier level models will be more way more expensive but models that are good enough for most people like GPT 5.5 will be accessible.

@skeptrune I would actually push it back on people saying that soon compute is going to be extremely finite or expensive. I think most of the Mavn AI labs are working on making their compute less expensive getting more data centres and then also optimizing models and efficiency.

the era of subsidized compute is coming to an end. models are starting to get expensive now gpt-5.5 pro is $30/1mil input and $180/1mil output gpt-5.4 is $2.50/1mil input and $15/1mil output so 12x the price. 5.5 normal is only 2x but still… it’s eye watering cost

Introducing GPT-5.5 A new class of intelligence for real work and powering agents, built to understand complex goals, use tools, check its work, and carry more tasks through to completion. It marks a new way of getting computer work done. Now available in ChatGPT and Codex.

@Alphiloscorp @airkatakana I will substantiate my claim actually. you are genuinely stupid comparing docusign to coca cola, does this look like the MARKET thinks it has a coca cola moat? Now, name me this cheaper better docusign that you clearly made up

@SupremePatriark @airkatakana No, thank you. It is your turn to substantiate your position. Not going to play a game of one-sided-rigor, here. You said no moat. I showed market capture. You said "is there a..." and I said yes, it is my 1st hand experience to be the case and here is why I suppose it is so.

if i gave you the formula for coca cola right now and told you to go sell it, 5 years down the line you would probably have 0% of the soft drink market share. with literally coke and yet everyone expects ai-coded apps to be in widespread use after less than a year

I don’t have to be convinced that LLM’s make programmers more productive. But where’s all the stuff? We’ve now had months and months of 100x or 1000x programmet productivity improvements. Where’s all the stuff they’re building?

@SupremePatriark @airkatakana Yes, there are. I didn't pull DocuSign out of a hat: I have to use it and I have had to administrate it. It costs more and is a slightly inferior product, But! It is 1) works 2) is a known quantity (safe, perception of permanence) in Enterprise, so it gets picked anyhow.

@SupremePatriark @airkatakana I would say that there are multiple "Coca-Cola" type situations in SaaS, they're just not salient from outside enterprise procurement/admin. E.g., Docusign is a decent product. Is it "2/3 market cap" good? Certainly not. Doubtless some competitors are better! And yet...

@airkatakana I wasn’t arguing its easy to make a successful saas app but rather that there is no “coca cola” for saas, no saas has a “moat” like coca cola

@SupremePatriark software is easier to scale and distribute but these are fundamentally the same thing and in fact the ease of distribution of software ensures many competitors, who can also distribute just as effectively as you
