A landmark step for animal welfare - @shipmin_india , under Hon’ble Minister @sarbanandsonwal , has formally amended the “Sagar Samajik Sahayog” CSR Guidelines (29.04.2026) to include ANIMAL WELFARE in the 68% allocation for environment & sustainability - applicable to all Major Port Authorities. This unlocks dedicated CSR funding for animal welfare across India’s port jurisdictions. Lucknow has achieved from 1 ABC center, in 5 years, what Delhi has been unable to achieve in 25 years with 20 ABC centers.

If You Feed Street Dogs – Follow These Steps 1.Inform the Municipal Authority- > Write a simple letter/email to your Municipal Authority asking them to fix designated feeding spots in your area. > Keep a copy of the letter with you. 2.Choose Safe Spots > Pick places away from children’s play areas, footpaths, or busy roads. 3.Feed Till Spots are Fixed > Continue feeding in safe spots until the Authority officially marks the feeding area. 4.Multiple Spots May Be Needed > The Supreme Court has said feeding points should be based on the number of dogs. > This means there can be more than one spot, so dogs do not gather in large numbers and fight. 5.If Someone Stops You > Show them the copy of your letter to the Municipal Authority. > Request them to also write to the Authority to indicate the feeding spots soon. > Till then, the dogs cannot go hungry, hence continue to feed. > You may be fined for littering under the Municipal Corporation Act, if you feed outside the feeding spots. 6.Keep the Rules With You > Carry a copy of Rule 20 of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules. 7.Be Polite and Respectful > Care for animals with kindness, but also respect people around you. 8.Report Violence Immediately > If anyone hurts or threatens you for feeding dogs, report it to the police. •Relevant laws: •Causing hurt: Sections 115, 116 •Obstruction: Section 126 •Criminal force: Sections 129, 131 •Threats/insults: Section 351

#WATCH | Delhi | On SC reserving order on stray dogs in Delhi-NCR, Trustee at People for Animals India, Gauri Maulekhi, says, "All the advocates in the Court today said that such an order is neither practical nor in the interest of humans or animals." She says, "Many compassionate people and important lawyers of the Bar attended the hearing today. We saw that more than 150 lawyers came to the hearing. There was no space to even stand in the courtroom... Today, the court heard everyone peacefully and reserved the order. We hope that this fatal order will be stayed..."

#WATCH | Delhi | On SC order to send all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR to shelters within 8 weeks, Animal Rights Activist and BJP leader Maneka Gandhi says, "It is not a doable order... This is a very strange judgment given by someone who is in anger. Angry judgments are never sensible..." She says, "... There is no single government-run shelter in Delhi. In how many shelters would you put 3 lakh dogs? You don't even have one. To make those shelters, you have to spend at least Rs 15 thousand crore... You'll have to find 3000 places for shelters in places where no one lives. How will you find these many places?... This can't be done in two months... You'll have to employ 1.5 lakh people to just be sanitation workers, which will again cost crores... Firstly, when they go to get the dogs, there will be fighting in every street because feeders are not going to let the dogs go. Every day, there will be fights. Do we want this destabilisation situation? Other political parties will get into it to attack the BJP... When the dogs from here are displaced, dogs from nearby states will come to Delhi, as there will be more food here. Then, within a week, there will be another 3 lakh dogs in Delhi, and these will not be sterilised. Then will you start another sterilisation programme and spend hundreds of crores again?..."

A death sentence for our community animals. In a shocking move, the Supreme Court has ordered that all street dogs in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon & Noida be permanently confined in pounds — with CCTV to ensure none are released. The court has ignored Animal Birth Control rules, dismissed inputs from intervening parties, and even cited a Western movie dialogue to justify its stance. All this, despite zero human rabies deaths recorded in Delhi in the past 3 years. This is not just unscientific, it’s cruel and dangerous. If you care for street animals, now is the time to speak in one voice.

Shocking violations of the PCA Act recorded at most #ABC centres in #Delhi. Centres run by Friendicoes SECA, Sonadi, Dr Rajeev & Dr Sanjay are among the worst in terms of animal welfare. These operate like organ-harvesting hubs, not ABC facilities. While we fight daily to protect community animals from hostility and violence, how do we shield them from the very hands meant to heal them? Greedy operators treat animals as disposable commodities - just numbers for monthly reimbursements, not lives deserving dignity. @MCD_Delhi has been alerted about one Dr S.K. Yadav who has been overlooking these violations which have impacted the efficacy of the program. @gupta_rekha ji must set up an enquiry to identify officials in MCD who have compromised the efficacy of the program for years under @AamAadmiParty by disobeying the Rules framed by the Central Government. @BJP4Delhi
