As someone who has enjoyed this show (& sees the potential for future seasons taking off if they build on this)… It would be a real bummer, in the spirit of the show, if the finale does not reward the top “tout” remaining It can’t just come down to having radio voice… right?

@iwasinverted8 I’d for sure watch a Cupps data-driven show I think my fav would be a Tyler show w/ film analysis, which would add some valuable context to what happens each weekend. He’s got the best IRL football knowledge, ability to entertain & could run solo streams a la Davis for Flock

@SusEdwardsFF All that being said, Cupps is probably my preferred option. His show with Pete maybe very different than a lot of Pete’s current offerings.

@SusEdwardsFF @jasonkatz13 The idea of calling someone like Cam Skattebo unathletic or less athletic is fascinating. I think it’s important to identify that these guys are all very athletic, just in different ways. You can rely less on explosiveness or lateral agility and still be very athletic

@SusEdwardsFF I think it comes down to the show they start doing with Pete. If Squares can hold his own hosting and develop under Pete he’ll be a worthwhile winner in my eyes.

@JakobSanderson Usually teams in this circumstance don’t have the greatest player in the sport’s history with an ownership stake and a strong stance, a veteran QB with a legit pedigree that they signed the same offseason, and a coach that won’t find himself on the hot seat bc of his pedigree

I’m glad we will once again do the thing where we all take this report seriously and argue for a week about whether it’s good or bad for rookies to sit, when we all know in reality that Mendoza will be starting by Week 5 at the latest

@jasonkatz13 @jmthrivept if you hardly have nfl athleticism, and then you lose some of the athleticism you’ve got, then you’re not an nfl athlete this idea that it’s actually more bullish for the less athletic players to get injured is asinine

@jmthrivept Correct me if I'm off base here, but I would also think Skattebo's power play style that doesn't rely on quick burst or explosion makes it less likely the injury hinders him too much.

@bunky21356 Also weren’t the applicants for the show supposed to be people who aren’t making sports content as their full time job? By his own admission Tony Squares had a large successful gambling podcast, hosted shows with NBA Hall of Famers and has a large following already

@bunky21356 It’s just odd for a show to be all about the contestants & the touts, then at the 11th hour it becomes host-centric The future show w/ Pete was pitched as one of many rewards, a byproduct of winning. Now it’s become the point, & almost nothing else seem to matters in this final
