Lucky to have 2 research vessels exploring the MidAtlantic Ridge at the same time. While following @oceanexplorer Voyage to the Ridge, we start leg2 of @eurofleets iMAR cruise. Onboard RV Pelagia, we'll be mapping #deepsea benthic communities in unexplored ridges to 1200m depth.

On #DY152 Autosub5 sits in the LARS while ALR3 is dunk tested via crane. Autosub5 is too big & heavy to safely use a single point lift from a ships crane at sea. ALR however is deployable from most ship cranes taking up much less deck space @NOCnews #oceanrobots
