I've decided to create my own Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Like the US. government, I'm developing a budget-neutral strategy for acquiring my bitcoin at no incremental cost. Phase one of my strategy is inviting contributions to my reserve bc1q0gqg0cwwyffctw5kcskcezu7xdl3hdq0hgulpv

btw if you are wondering why should you care about Monad MIP-8 proposal: - Monad will become even more efficient - txs fees will drop significantly for some complex scenarios with DeFi swaps, perps, games, order books etc. - basically zero downsides, no breaking changes, full compatibility - devs get lower gas costs for well-structured contracts a win-win proposal

Monad (@monad) combines speed, low fees, and full EVM compatibility. But how does it actually work, and what makes it different from Solana, Sui, and Aptos? Watch the full video: gcko.io/jdfcvac

In addition to adding support for MON today, OKX is also adding deposits and withdrawals for USDC and USDT0 on the Monad network. Money moves on Monad.

Gotta say sorry to Monad: I FUDed it after the launch for failing to attract TVL, dapps, and users, especially after such a hyped TGE. I also thought MegaETH’s successful launch would put even more pressure on Monad. Yet MegaETH’s slow growth is a redemption for Monad. It’s fair play for both when the market rebounds. I also think Monad could explore more incentive campaigns. Especially because MegaETH’s points campaign should launch soonish too.

The Resolv hack is a reminder of the importance of getting the oracle mechanic exactly right Second order effects of the hack are cropping up in DeFi due to the following: - Oracle was hard coded to (NAV of holdings) divided by (number of tokens issued without awareness of the extra 80m tokens) - As a result, users were able to buy cheap USR (or wstUSR or RLP), deposit into lending protocol, borrow stablecoins, and repeat until the lending protocol hits USR collateral cap This incident should trigger lending protocols and curators to reexamine all NAV-based / bespoke oracles

Maturing is realizing Monad was one of the best L1 launches in crypto history: > $245M TVL in <2 weeks > $325M TVL / $388M stablecoin mcap (Megaeth $100m TVL at 6 weeks, Aptos $35M at 5 months, Sui $54M at 5 months) > zero downtime since genesis block (Solana: 17 crashes in year 1) > 300+ apps live. Uniswap, Morpho, Chainlink day one. > Aave DAO just passed deployment 873,000-0 (unprecedented consensus for a new L1) > 7th busiest chain globally in week 1, ahead of Arbitrum and Avalanche > 200+ validators. Mastercard partner program. > first-ever public token sale on Coinbase(retail onboarding) > native app scene looking stronger every day (Ethereum needed 5 years for DeFi Summer, Solana needed 4 for pumpfun, most L1s never found theirs.) > MON remains at ICO price levels despite bear(SUI -83% in 5 months, APT -76% in a year) monad literally moving at unprecedented velocity yet ct still refusing to take the purple pill nuts

Monad is rationalizing gas costs with true costs and constraints, so that developers can make the most of the hardware and build the most powerful applications. MIP-4 (linear memory expansion costs) is the first step in that direction. Live on Monad Mainnet now.
James@_jhunsaker

Monad now has linear memory expansion costs rather than quadratic like Ethereum. Smart contracts can now use more memory for cheaper cost. This expands what developers can build on Monad as well as reduces the need to potentially compromise security for optimization purposes.
