@jpthor@HeimdallRune@thewolfofdefi Bit confused here, didn't you say that you weren't the one to pause the ThorFi using admin Mimir? And that you weren't the one behind the Leena account, nor the one who deleted it?
@anhpham408@jpthor@crypto_XZ No one is blocking his right to post freely, it's just extremely tone deaf to post such a suggestion when this idea has been shot down by the community from all sides. I'm suggesting he orients on the topics before posting about them
@jpthor@crypto_XZ And this is also an extreme copout, you know full well that not everyone can run a node due to financial constraints. Plenty of voices in the community do not run a node, should all those opinions be discarded?
Before making an ADR consider a sanity check with the community
@jpthor@crypto_XZ You can post whatever you like but this just shows signs of incompetence, do you not see the power position you hold and the chaos your past tweets have created? If you hold the protocols best interests, you should realize this and hold back with posting such contrarian opinions
@jpthor@crypto_XZ You're starting to show your cracks again, how do you not see that no one supports this idea.
You should really not post this stuff wildly and sow uncertainty, go in the discord to discuss the idea rather than just throwing it out here. Thought you would have learned by now
There are 110 nodes
Any one of them can put up an ADR.
if 67% of them vote it on it’s done.
I will put up an ADR at $TCY $1.00 and let’s see. Maybe the majority agree, maybe they don’t.
It’s purely economics - the exact reason why those nodes don’t vote to take all the TVL today.
Social rules don’t work. Economic rules do.
@1984_is_today Feels like a slippery slope and I'm not sure whether the super majority of nodes will agree on censoring, considering the stance that was taken on the DPRK funds.
Granted that is different and only swapping funds, not aimed at building bond and potential network takeovers.
@1984_is_today How would you know if the mixed funds are from DPKR, or are you suggesting to just censor all mixed funds going to bond?
Doesn't this essentially imply that anyone who wants to run a node has to have their money sourced from a CEX, or is there another method that would "pass"?
@zachxbt@CryptoPepex@TheDesertLynx@paperX_Art@PostTenebras2@THORChain I'll try to add nuance in the way that this swap was simply in better "circumstances" than the other swap Zach showed. TC can definitely have improvements in consistency, speed and execution but showing one badly executed swap and using that as a baseline is not really accurate
@zachxbt@CryptoPepex@TheDesertLynx@paperX_Art@PostTenebras2@THORChain Here's a swap with a fee of ~$8k on a $2.5M swap for BTC->ETH, from earlier today (discounting the affiliate fee).
This ends up being a 0.3% fee, equal to what your $1M swap example on the dex aggregator was.
@zachxbt@0xthorchain@Zdeadex@PostTenebras2@THORChain Native swap vs cross chain swap. Additionally there is a 0.55% affiliate fee taken on the TC side. Additionally additionally the price of BTC/ETH slipped by like 0.5-0.7% during the stream. Could argue that is due to TC being slower, but TC is aiming to speed itself up
@zachxbt@Zdeadex@PostTenebras2@THORChain Do those handle UTXO chains in a robust way that is not a simple multisig bridge?
Decentralized crosschain swaps are much harder to achieve, TC is still one of the best cross-chain DEXes and actively trying to improve UX. It still trades blows with the alternatives like CF
@Sw4llux@Zdeadex@PostTenebras2@THORChain DEX aggregators like LlamaSwap or Jupiter are near instant and typically can have comparable execution to CEXs.
TC is not comparable to that if a large swaps takes hours….
@zachxbt@altair_morpheus@PostTenebras2@THORChain There is no $200M of funds that they could give back, it was backed by RUNE which was not liquid enough to support the redemptions.
TC messed up big time with ThorFi and is paying the price but what you are saying is misconstruing the situation.
@zachxbt@Zdeadex@PostTenebras2@THORChain Huh? What exactly is your point now, normally I agree with your takes but now you are saying DEXes have worse execution than CEXes so no one should use them?
@Zdeadex@PostTenebras2@THORChain Why would anyone want to pay fees just to wait hours for a transaction to complete when it could be done near instantly elsewhere?
Protocols like TC need to improve the speed of swaps.
@somaxbt@EnigmaticMrM@zachxbt@THORChain Alright bet, let the Ethereum foundation create a function in the validator nodes that allow them to freeze/block/seize assets. Otherwise ETH is turning a blind eye to the hacked funds flowing through their platform no?
@EnigmaticMrM@zachxbt@THORChain True, but decentralization doesn’t mean turning a blind eye to stolen funds. If a platform enables the free flow of hacked assets without any safeguards, it becomes a safe haven for bad actors rather than a truly decentralized ecosystem.
@jpthor@BooneW@proof_steve@AutoStakeThor@THORChain@RujiraNetwork Do the other persons that have access to the Leena account also have access to the admin keys?
Considering Leena posted the announcement in the discord, and right afterwards you posted about it on Twitter. The story doesn't really add up
@jpthor How would you ensure the arbs dont steal the assets considering they have to use external CEXes? If they have to put up bond to use the assets, then why not use the bond as arbing capital in the first place?
@jpthor Is it disclosable who the other people controlling it were, and what the rationale for deleting it was?
To be honest I've never seen anyone write in a different style on the leena account, it was always the exact same wording, nomenclature etc. Timezones were also the same
@jpthor@CryptoLush_ Could you answer why you deleted your discord account? I understand leaving discord but why delete it?
It makes it impossible to search for a history of your messages
@BooneW@jpthor@THORChain JP is wrong, they get churned out when the next churn happens. A churn isn't forced as soon as a LEAVE is sent
Additionally, node operators can greatly increase the time it takes to churn by refusing keygen at the right moments and refusing keysign for the migrating funds.
@jpthor@THORChain Okay thank you for the replies and info
Just to make sure I understand, a LEAVE command causes the node to immediately leave the validator set (and not wait for next churn)?
It’s because no one will clearly explain what @THORChain’s current security philosophy is
The best I’ve be able to synthesize is that people are just supposed to trust NOs now
@TreefeedXavier@SushiWhatElse@THORChain@1984_is_today It is max extracting from the community by massively shorting and then dumping, simply disrespectful and shows that the only thing he cares for is money. Also as others said illegal in most countries
*Of course assuming its true that he was the one shorting and not someone else
A lot of grief and gore around @THORChain space: I don't care is @1984_is_today dump $RUNE or not - it is his own money and his decisions. You can't shout 'permissionless' when receive fees from Lazarus, but call to 'ban' when someone dump on your heads.
