On my second date with my new love interest, I almost turned a great day into a Seinfeld episode type of debacle. I could hear the theme song in my head. She lives a decent drive away so I made the drive and we went and got lunch. I met her and her puppy dog at her place. We sat and talked for awhile in the sunny but breezy weather. It was nice. The puppy was a bit rambunctious but calmed down over time. The nearby BBQ place is a mustard-based BBQ place. Run down black BBQ shack. It was very solid but a limited menu. Me and her got almost the exact same thing. I kid you not, anon, this girl is the female version of me. We have very similar life experiences and some of them are downright bizarre, in my opinion. As we talked we realized we've both been experiencing some weird but cool synchronicities. This is the type of girl that sends me pictures of religious books she's reading and bakes me gluten free muffins to take home. About a week before I first talked to her, I had started feeling God in my life more than I have in a long time. After lunch we lounged for a bit and went on a little nature walk that she goes to. The dog was full of energy and we tried to tire it out but did not succeed. As the sun began to go down, she was putting the muffins in some Tupperware and reminded me to close the door so the dog didn't get out. Mustard failed to close the door. And the dog took off like a missile, headed straight to the road. The road where people go a minimum of 65 if not more (somebody passed me going at least 100 on the way home). I had a vision of the dog running straight into a car and getting killed. Splattered while she looked on and I would stand there dumbfounded. I heard the Seinfeld theme in my head. A great second date where we held hands for the first time, and then I unintentionally kill her dog. I told myself I would hop in my car and leave before she even got back to her place. I was literally gonna block her number and admit defeat. There's no coming back from that. Fortunately, we were able to corral her dog. She said I'm not good at closing doors, but we are all good. I avoided a disaster my friends. We shall see which way this relationship goes. I will be fine either way, but I do believe God has brought us together. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
