The Denver Nuggets were 16.3 points per 100 possessions better with Nikola Jokic on the court this season, per @cleantheglass Jokic has now led the NBA in on/off swing for five straight seasons!

@SwishTheUpright The playoffs will be decided by injuries as they always are. It's a crapshoot anyone can win.

I don’t have an issue if SGA is your MVP pick. He obviously has a case The issue I have is that every voter’s reasoning for their pick is so simple, hypocritical, and biased

This SGA MVP will be looked back on in history as the most confusing MVP ever awarded. Whether he deserves it or not… but the counting stats, including leading the NBA in rebs/assists is something that may never be done again. Truly historic stuff and the casual fans understand.

Talked about why I would have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as my MVP pick on the show on Sunday night. I think somehow his dominance as a scorer this season has gone underrated.

The question is when will voters get SGA fatigue? He's had basically the same MVP case for 3 years. He's not even that fun to watch like others who clearly were penalized for voter fatigue (Jordan, Peyton, LeBron, Lamar, Jokic, etc.).
Nuggs 🏀@OldYungDale

@ScottKacsmar @MileHighWeezy Apparently he needs to lead the league in points, assists, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, +/-, wins, he also needs to get 35 point triple doubles in every game before the 4th quarter and sit out every 4th quarter. Then just MAYBE, the media would consider another MVP for him.

@HPbasketball Probably your best post I have seen. Ring culture is root of nba problems. Greatness can be appreciated on a daily basis.

The best thing we can do as an online community of NBA fans is normalize the idea that non-title success matters. Making a Final Four is a real accomplishment. Winning 60 games is awesome no matter how the playoffs turn out. Winning 50 games is a good season. Making the second round IS playoff success. Everything that is creating problems for the quality of games that isn't the league's absolutely asinine schedule in the face of changes to play are caused by a root idea that everything short of the title is a failure.

I will say again, the only way you should be voting for SGA as MVP is if your definition of “Most Valuable Player” is the best team’s best player. If it is, then that’s fine. I have a problem when the definition changes year-over-year based upon the candidates. If that’s always been your definition, I don’t have a problem with it. That’s not my definition of MVP. My definition is in the actual meaning of the words. The MOST VALUABLE. You guys are twisting yourselves into a pretzel pretending what Jokić continues to build on year over year isn’t unprecedented and deserving of the utmost recognition the league has to offer. He sets a new standard statistically every single season at this point. Think of it this way, if he doesn’t average 28-13-11 next year, and lead the league in BOTH rebounds and assists for the first time, is that a DOWN year? Look, I really do respect Shai. He’s a hell of a player—a champion who developed himself into a flat out killer. He’s got it all. His story is very impressive. However to pretend like the actual “MOST VALUABLE PLAYER” in the NBA is anyone other than Nikola Jokić, IMO, is strange.
Mat Smith@RealMatSmith

mf averaged 28/13/11 and y’all gonna give the foul baiter the MVP again smh

If Jokic doesn’t win MVP, it’s either: 1) voter fatigue 2) weighing team wins too much His numbers are ridiculous Arguments against Luka are always on/off, advanced stats, efficiency Jokic has better on/off, better advanced stats, and better efficiency

I truly believe Chet Holmgren is fundamentally a better defensive player than Victor Wembanyama. Argue a wall.

@ScottKacsmar Could start by being the best player on the floor vs the other mvp when they play.
