@asiegersmusic @nswpolice Hi Alex, Pitt Street Mall is a shared area. People riding do not need to dismount and should ride slowly – especially during busy periods.

@nswpolice were in Pitt St Mall yesterday issuing warnings and fines for cyclists. I understood the mall to be a shared area. I’ve included signage on the northern end of the Mall (the end I access it from) which indicates that it is. @SydneyCycleway any advice?

The Pitt Street pop-up cycleway is now bi-directional! This pop-up is already seeing well over 3000 bike trips a week, and that's sure to boom now travel is two-way. It's going to be a stunning weekend - if you haven't explored the new pop-ups, now's the time!

If you're pedalling in the Erskineville area be aware that part of Railway Parade, just north of Erskineville station, will be closed this weekend. Please take it easy and follow instructions from the traffic controllers. And enjoy the beautiful weather too, all!

@Cecilia_St King Street Wharf, and the whole Darling Harbour precinct is a shared path environment, meaning bikes can ride there as long they obey speed limits and give way to pedestrians.

2/2 @OldCroaky @cityofsydney the gap is there to allow people riding to continue on the roadway rather than entering the shared path if they feel confident to do so at times when there is no left turning traffic.

Check @cityofsydney’s idea of good planning. A temporary cycleway ends by spearing onto a footpath. Tell me it’s not going to cause problems. I do hope that no other city follows our example of planning, unless it’s of how not to do it! (How many ride thru the gap?) #sydneyrides

1/2 @OldCroaky @cityofsydney Separated cycleways transition onto shared paths in dozens of locations across Sydney without incident. In this instance, this transition is necessary to allow left turning traffic to do so without cutting across a cycleway.

@ChrisTagle @cityofsydney once this pop up cycleway is complete in a few days, there will be upright poles mounted into the barrier, which should make it very clear that people are allowed to park in the cycleway.

@mthorne94 @cityofsydney Not actors, staff from the City of Sydney and @TransportforNSW out for a site visit and some internal photos. At present the Pitt St bike counters are registering 400+ riders a day.
