Also great to see that the site continues to develop. These posters were designed by our excellent librarian, Mr Harris, and are in every classroom - and now on the corridors to reinforce our message and ethos.

@DuckieLouise I have a friend whose husband ghosted. After 7 years he was pronounced dead, and her daughters inherited a sizable (to me) trust fund, paid for college, moved on. Then he turned up! Alive! And they had to pay the money back. To their deadbeat father!

When I was working at the group home way back in the day, (when I was 19ish) I almost had to quit bc my living situation wasn’t working out. My boss at the time (because turnover is so heartbreakingly high in those places) said they couldn’t afford to lose me, and asked me to come live with her until I got that sorted. So I did. I stayed with her and her husband for a few months and it was a blast 😂. They were hilarious and sweet and obviously loved each other very dearly, having been married for like 6 or 7 years already. He was reliable and sweet. The sort of man who would come help if my car broke down. (I mean - I know this because he DID come help 😂). I had his number along with hers in case I ran into trouble. And it’s worth noting here, too, that I was a 19 year old girl living with them and he never made me feel unsafe or uncomfortable, never made any inappropriate gestures or moves etc etc. By all counts - this was an honorable man 🤷🏻‍♀️. Anyway, a little while after I moved out, she got pregnant. It was the best news ever - they had been trying for a baby for so long !! But then… he did the same thing in this post?! He GHOSTED so hard 😭. We were all completely blindsided. I was even trying to text him like “dude where ARE you??” It’s been almost 20 years and none of us have ever heard from him again beyond dude-friends assuring us he’s fine and safe. It’s the saddest thing. I still can’t comprehend it. There’s this precious little boy who looks exactly like him who is (I just realized while typing this) almost all grown up now. Dude missed everything 💔.

Birth control is a medication that not only prevents pregnancy, but is also used to address medical conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, low estrogen disorders, etc. Denying people access to needed medication is what would cause actual harm. Compliments of @risaruart

@hmv666 @roseveniceallan A peer in high school was suspended for wearing a long velvet skirt (hot topic). Not sure how they id'd, but that was 1997. It never occurred to me they may have been trans. I just saw it as rebellion, but we had no education about gender expression back then. Now we know more!

@roseveniceallan As it happens I know someone my age who transitioned about 10 years ago. The reason there were "no trans kids" in the 90s was that they didn't dare open up about it. Given the amount of horrendous bullying I see today, it's no wonder.

There was a post on R/relationships & it's living rent free in my head. Some woman who loves plants was having a bad run of it with some of her most prized plants dying and couldn't figure out why, and it was slowly crushing her and it turns out her husband was poisoning them 😳

I do not understand why men are not just living in olive green t-shirts. I have never seen a man who doesn’t look best in this color. It looks good on every skin tone, w/ every hair & eye color, etc. Have other women noticed this? Is it just me bc I like this color?

Could this have been from broken blood vessels from unidentified bar injuries? 😂 in my early drinking days, I used to always have a sore chest after heavy drinking, which I worried was heart or lung, yrs later I realized it was a toilet bruise on my breastplate 😂🤮

@AshleyGWinter It looks a lot like the leg rashes we got in NOLA after night of drinking. We called it Bourbonitis.

The update on the rash is that I went to primary care and they said it was also weird and put in a dermatology referral.
