Can’t believe I’m about to say this but… loving yourself It ofcourse has nothing to do with ADHD all no idea what this guys on about what he’s talking about is something that is often caused by receiving only or mainly *conditional* love and attention as a child, dependent on how you acted or simply how your parents mood was. I have no idea if this is the case for you Ofcourse! But in this scenario here’s how it can be fixed: For a child this can be incredibly confusing. Especially during the earliest years, if it feels emotionally detachement from the parents, it will never feel like it has a place where it is truly safe. So it learns to act in ways that “earn” it love, but it becomes deeply scared of losing it What’s described above is that feeling of wanting others approval, and when it isn’t granted, it triggers that old wound It can be fixed by being very kind to yourself. You can learn that you can have a safe place with love within yourself, independent of others. You can do it with exaggeration at first even. Basicly for some time be the kind, caring and unconditionally loving parent you needed as a child.

People with ADHD have what’s called Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). It’s an extreme emotional response to perceived criticism or rejection. Your brain can’t regulate the emotional pain, so a small comment feels like a devastating attack. A minor correction feels like total failure. Someone’s tone feels like hatred. It’s not oversensitivity. It’s not being dramatic. Your brain literally can’t modulate the intensity of that emotional response. It’s neurological, not a character flaw
