Yeah, BitChat is genuinely impressive from a tech standpoint. But honestly, there are some big downsides: ✅In a hostile crowd, mesh has no walls — nearby devices can sniff traffic. Anonymity and deniability are weak. ✅It destroys battery life: constant scanning can drain 20–30% in under an hour. All-day use? ✅Latency and reliability are bad: messages can be slow or never arrive. ✅Talking to someone far away is basically impossible.

I trained models across MacBooks using Apple's AirDrop protocol. grove is a distributed training library for Apple Silicon. Devices discover each other over AWDL, a direct radio link. If there's a shared WiFi network it upgrades to that for speed, otherwise everything goes over the direct link. No router, no cloud, no setup. grove start
