Thank you @DhaliwalSports There will always be trade talk about Elias, but as I've said they haven't asked him to waive anything, and frankly there's no point in trading him right now. If he has a good season this or maybe next season, you might get a great return for the rebuild. His value is currently at the bottom, the Canucks aren't in a bad cap situation, and the contract is a non-issue at this point. There's no reason to trade him, unless he asks for it and even then... probably not worth doing unless you get a great return. Trades with NMCs are a double-edged sword - both the team and the player can say no. Ride it out, increase his value, then cash in. That's the way to do it. #Canucks

@JFreshHockey He also lost his foot speed. He has always been defensively responsible, but he had to be more "defensive" to make up for his lack of gamebreaking ability and speed he once had. He is not strong on faceoffs and willing to eat pucks all at the price of $11.6 million a year.

I think you get the gist on the player EP40 currently is from this game. Still has lots of finesse, handling, patience, awareness, passing skill, and an underrated defensive motor and willingness to engage on the wall. But physically weak and not as individually dangerous.

There isn't enough player support for him in vancouver. Go somewhere where the weight of the world isn't on his shoulders anymore.

With any offer sheet signed, there is always an inherent question: Does this player want to be here? What must be part of Anaheim's calculus now with an AAV of this magnitude is whether that's the case with Carlsson. The more calls I make, the more I believe that's in question.
