Anything to be said to add an extra basket collection to all churches in Mayo to pay Kobe McDonald and keep him in Ireland.

🗣️ Bernardo Silva: "The difference between the rivalry with Arsenal and Liverpool? Maybe it's that Liverpool have already won a Premier League and Arsenal haven't. That Liverpool have won a Champions League and Arsenal haven't. And that Liverpool always face us with the intention of winning the game."

Dear Minister @DarraghOBrienTD @teslaeurope The @Tesla Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) system has just been approved by the Dutch authority @RDWnl. This is a groundbreaking decision that paves the way for a safer future on European roads: rdw.nl/en/news/2026/r… The system has undergone exceptionally rigorous testing for over a year and a half. According to the official RDW statement: > "Safety is an absolute priority for RDW. The proper use of this driving assistance system makes a positive contribution to road traffic safety." Statistics published by @Tesla show that this system – under driver supervision – is seven times safer than the average human driver: tesla.com/fsd/safety Every day of delay in approving this system statistically translates into accidents, injuries, and fatalities that could be avoided. The remaining EU countries can now quickly follow the Netherlands’ lead. Thousands of people, including myself, are counting on your engagement so that Ireland can be at the forefront of this technological revolution and genuinely improve safety on our roads.

Irish Times are at it again! Today’s Irish Times features a piece by Ciaran O’Connor @ciaranoconnor. The Irish Times fails to disclose that O’Connor is in fact a senior analyst at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD). The ISD is funded by the George Soros Open Society Foundations, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the UK government, and has received over $6m in US Department of State funding. Surprisingly or perhaps unsurprisingly, in 2019 following the death of Jeffrey Epstein, Ciaran O’Connor worked to “fact check” those spreading “conspiracy theories” about Epstein. Important work no doubt. It’s always interesting to scratch just below the surface on a contributor to the Irish Times, who the IT tell us is merely “a researcher and journalist who focuses on extremism and technology”.

As if the 51% income tax I’m paying wasn’t enough, I’ve just given the bastards another €92. The Irish government has essentially no redeeming qualities

Woke Ireland Cork City Council ordered to pay €8k to female firefighter applicant over discriminatory 'beep' test The Workplace Relations Commission Adjudicator found the 43-year-old job applicant was treated less favourably by Cork City Council as a prospective employee seeking access to employment and discriminated against on the grounds of both age and gender Cork City Council has been ordered to pay €8,000 compensation to an unsuccessful female 43-year old firefighter job applicant due to a discriminatory ‘one size fits all’ beep fitness tests for applicants This follows Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) Adjudicator, Úna Glazier-Farmer, finding that the City Council discriminated against Terézia Foott on the grounds of gender and age when applying the beep test for applicants for the full-time firefighter role. Ms Glazier Farmer found that the beep test, without the application of a normative table that considers age and gender in determining the final score, was both directly discriminatory towards Ms Foott and indirectly discriminatory against women, while giving younger candidates a distinct advantage. Ms Glazier Farmer found that Ms Foott was treated less favourably by Cork City Council as a prospective employee seeking access to employment and discriminated against on the grounds of both age and gender. In her findings after a two day hearing, Ms Glazier Farmer said that the absence of the consideration of age and gender in the beep test results “is significant”. Ms Glazier Farmer stated that it is not accepted that a “one‑size‑fits‑all” beep test is appropriate. As part of the job application process Mr Foott was required to undergo a fitness test on November 17th 2023 and she passed every element of the test except the aerobic component. In her claim, Ms Foott relied on a male in his twenties as a comparator, albeit hypothetical, and this was not challenged by the city council. In her findings, Ms Glazier Farmer stated that the City Council openly acknowledged in its evidence that there was no separate standard for males and females, and that the same fitness requirements applied to all candidates. As part of her claim, Ms Foott contended that the practical effect of the discriminatory beep test had been to reduce the number of women progressing to full‑time roles. Ms Foott maintained that the persistently low female intake for full time firefighter roles was linked to the inflexible beep testing method. Ms Glazier Farmer has ordered the city council to pay Ms Foott €4,000 compensation for discriminating against on the grounds of gender and an additional €4,000 for discriminating against her on the grounds of age. The test at issue, the beep test, involves running back and forth along a set distance in time with beeping sounds. The candidate must reach the end of the track before each beep. After every level, the beeps become closer together, requiring the candidate to run faster. Chief Fire Officer with Cork City Council, David Spillet told the hearing that there is no separate standard for males and females and the same fitness requirements apply to all candidates to ensure they are capable, fit, and healthy for operational duties. Mr Spillet rejected the suggestion that the test is discriminatory, reiterating that its purpose is to ensure a good level of fitness necessary for operational effectiveness. He stated that all firefighters, regardless of age or gender, must meet the same standard.

The wokery must end: The "beep test", a standard fitness test for firefighters for 40 years, discriminates against women and advantages younger candidates, a tribunal has found. Cork Fire Brigade has been ordered to pay €8k in compensation to Terézia Foott, aged in her 40s who failed to advance. She was held to the same standard as the man in his 20s who completed the beep test alongside her on the day.

The Liguria property I posted earlier today was only listed 4 days ago and I expect it to go fast, as there are a number of appealing factors here: location, price, condition, size I'm being asked regularly how long do properties in Italy stay on the market for and it heavily depends on the location and other factors I mentioned above. As an example, here is a very nice 4 room apartment (91m2) that was reserved after a few days of being listed. Who can guess the location?

So let me get this straight. Not one NGO, but three of them coordinated to publish guidance telling teachers, employers and others that they are legally required to use people’s invented pronouns, only for it to turn out that this was never actually the law (which was obvious from the start). And yet the government will continue to fund these NGOs after they’ve circulated misleading information as if it were settled law.
John McGuirk@john_mcguirk

What we essentially have here is an admission by a Government Department that state-funded NGO's are publishing what it is fashionable to call "misinformation" and "disinformation". Or at least it's fashionable to call it that when anyone other than state-funded NGOs does it.
