Because Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union, so centrally militarised. So yes, when one sovereign nation invades another sovereign nation, that's just as bad.

Weird. Ukrainians willingly helped the Soviet Union take land from Romania, but that was ok. But, when Russia takes land away from Ukraine, we're all supposed to be outraged? The war between Ukraine and Russia is a war between two bad actors. It doesn't matter who wins, they are both bad. As Europe said to America, the Islamic Republic of Iran is not their war. Likewise, Ukraine is not our war.

The JCPOA was designed to delay Iran's "breakout time" (time needed to produce enough fissile material for a nuclear weapon) from 2-3 months to over a year. With the 10-year term ending in "October 2025", Iran was no longer bound by these restrictions, allowing it to: Accelerate Enrichment: Legally increase the number of advanced centrifuges and increase the enrichment level of uranium, including up to weapons-grade (90%). Remove Inspections: Drastically reduce the intrusive monitoring and oversight capabilities of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). End UN Oversight: Eliminate the UN Security Council's formal oversight of Iran's nuclear program. It was ended because it was a bad deal with zero leverage to renegotiate and the sunset clauses allowed all the restrictions to end. Trump ended it in 2018 in order to renegotiate - Biden admin did little and had Obama flawed POV that Iran would join the rest of the world and not develop nukes. During the whole period Iran was developing delivery systems (intercontinental ballastic missiles). Iran even developed the cluster missiles that they launched in Israeli civilian areas (a war crime). The Iran regime is evil and had zero goal of following the deal. If not for US/Israeli hacking their centrifuge software they would have nukes.
