Alcohol is a product so tightly woven into our society that we struggle to see what it's really doing to us. Despite documented links between alcohol and cancer, heart and liver disease, over half of all drinkers think their own consumption doesn't raise their risk for serious health problems.

@WalksWallstreet @livingforsanity Vegas: Just named #1 recreation state in the US. Red Rock Canyon, Lee Canyon, Valley of Fire, Skiing, Rock Climbing, Cycling, etc. 9 months of great sunny weather. Beach and mountains in one day. No natural disasters. No income tax. Stay in NY.

I’ll never understand people who move from California or New York to Vegas
I used to travel to Vegas for work back in the day it it just sucks
Nothing to do, in the middle of the desert 🌵 and all the homes are McMansions
You can’t walk anywhere and zero sense of community
I honestly don’t understand how people live there
The big outing on a weekend is to get in your car and drive 25 mins to a Dunkin’ Donuts drive through
I need to be able to walk to great restaurants, coffee shops, museums, work etc
I couldn’t imagine waking up in my desert 🏜️ cul de sac, looking out at the same 20 homes that look just like mine and getting in my car to drive 25 mins to get groceries
Sorry for the rant, a good friend of mine just decided to move to Vegas from NYC and I’ve tried my best to talk him off the ledge
I just don’t get it!

@CeliaBedelia @Budget Rent from @Enterprise. I've been renting from them for 20 yrs. I've never had an issue. They cost a little more but the peace of mind is priceless. I usually get a better vehicle than my reservation for the same cost.

We made reservations weeks ago with @Budget for our family of 6.
We flew from Germany to Utah, went to get our rental car, & they said they could give us a 5 seater for our family of 6. They told us they have to provide a car legally don’t have to give us the one we reserved.

@nevadaleo032 @LasVegasSun If nothing else, he will prevent the Republicans from doing any harm.

@TGLASNV @LasVegasSun What will Ford do that would be good for Nevada?

A new poll released Wednesday by a Democrat organization shows the Nevada governor’s race is deadlocked between Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo and Democratic Attorney General Aaron Ford, even as Lombardo and his allies have outspent Ford’s side by a wide margin heading into the Nov. 3 general election.

I was recently in Jackson Hole for a work event and took advantage of a free day between travel to attempt the Grand Traverse in the Tetons. It was only my second ever day climbing in the Tetons - I did the Grand Traverse once before almost 20 years ago.
I had the pleasure of staying at @jimkchin’s house and he graciously equipped me with everything I needed for an adventure in the mountains (I didn’t want to try flying with an ice axe in my carry on…).
Ultimately, I came down after the Cathedral Traverse (the first part through the Grand) - it seemed like enough of an outing to scratch the itch. 9k of vert or so and an incredible amount of scrambling. I was moving pretty slowly and felt incredibly tired on the uphills. I think the Grand is the highest elevation I’ve been to all year and I definitely felt it. But it was a great day in the mountains. And certainly a real bonus during a work travel trip…

@AdamKinzinger And considering each goes in a pauper and comes out wealthy, all on less than 200k a year.

So the house will be off from July 22nd, to Aug 31, back that week, off a week, back two weeks, then off the whole month of October. Three weeks of work in three months. Not a bad gig

There's a new guy at work and he's been here maybe two weeks and we're in a meeting and my boss is talking about quarterly goals or whatever and she goes "we really need to circle back to customer retention" and this guy raises his hand and goes "I have a question" and my boss is like yes and he goes "why do you always say circle back?" and the whole room goes quiet and my boss is like what and he goes "you say it like every meeting is there a reason we're going in circles why don't we just go forward" and someone coughs and he's still going "like I've been keeping track you've said it eighteen times in two weeks" and my boss just stares at him and goes "have you never worked in an office before" and he goes "I have but nobody said circle back this much it feels aggressive" and I swear my boss aged five years and she goes "it's just a phrase" and he goes "okay but like why circles" and she just moved on with the meeting. He got let go during his probation period today and I heard him ask HR if it was because of the circle thing.
