This is the REAL reason behind the 3D printing bans. The corporations that hold manufacturing contracts, charging $5,644 for a $10 (or less) part, aren’t going to let 3D printing take that from them. Micro-manufacturing in the hands of the average human is disruptive.
SOFX@SOFXnetwork

A U.S. Marine Corps release on March 23, 2026 detailed how Lance Cpl. Eirick Schule developed a 3D-printed replacement for the MUOS antenna mast in April 2025, cutting costs from $5,644 per unit to about $10 and reducing delivery time from over 7 months to 10 hours, with 107 units produced and an estimated $600,000 saved.

Anyone that thinks it’s not possible should travel to Cantril, IA. Mennonites moved in around 1985 and by the late 90’s it was thriving, now there’s two major manufacturing businesses, a store that rivals Walmart and an equipment dealer that would make Altofer blush. They buy local, they don’t travel 150 miles to buy a car or hire a contractor to build their house. But you Johnny farmer aren’t willing to do that, so therefore, insert drying town. I won’t get into CRP and it’s addition to the down fall of rural america.
Corey Hillebo@corn_porkNbeans

Small towns don’t fall apart all at once. It’s one auction, one retirement, one empty building at a time. How do we reverse this trend? Is that even possible?

Shipyards are behind because America spent decades gutting skilled trades and disrespecting the people who actually build things. Now the welders are old, machinists are retiring, the pipeline is dry, and leadership wants miracles. You can’t rebuild industry with PowerPoints.

I’m a 56-year-old white male Canadian who paid into the system for 40 years. This is my 1-bedroom apartment — no kitchen or washroom included. Can’t find work. Government pays me just $365/month with zero help on housing. Immigrants and refugees get free housing and live comfortably, while the system I contributed to for decades leaves me behind. I’ve been stuck here over a year, collecting recycling just for gas. This is CANADA. 🇨🇦 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

@b1oodrain @tonyannett Is the "boogie man" also responsible, or just the Latin Texas Oil Kangz? Energy independence is indeed possible, but oil is not a non-renewable resource anyway, so maybe broaden your perspective and accept the forced use of oil is 100 years old itself, for a reason.

@TGP144 @tonyannett They do their part. We still need energy independence from the middle east. That's just basic national security sense. The Texas oil kings know that oil dependence creates more sales. period.

In the 1970s, American car companies made a huge mistake - sticking with gas guzzlers when high oil prices led people to demand for fuel efficiency. They were overtaken by Japanese cars. Now they’re making the same mistake all over again- sticking with gas guzzling SUVs when EVs have become the superior technology. This time it’s China rather than Japan that will win.

Yes, they were still civilized back then They recognized that displays of decorum and refinement matter more than just physical comfort, and so took pains to present themselves as best they were able Now even billionaires wear t shirts to show how “ordinary” they are and avoid the duties attached to aiming for a higher mode of life

It feels truly insane to me that people used to wear full-length cotton suit jackets and dress pants at all times. This is Manhattan in the height of summer, late June 1936! And these are factory workers!

@AnnwynSelley @MaxMurrayX @cabinsmountain The Jews are the ones running this country and many others into the ground, creating famine (Gaza, Holodomor, etc.), printing money, creating inflation and rising cost of living, buying single family homes via Blackrock/Blackstone. So yes, we can in fact, with that.

@TGP144 @MaxMurrayX @cabinsmountain Can we not with that, but also, The obesity epidemic is also from food scarcity. Produce gets too expensive so ultra-processed becomes the only real option, vus creating an obesity issue.

@tonyannett That's all changing this war. America was the "reliable war dog" that could keep oil flowing. I'm sure smaller nations are re-engaging energy independence talks. We Americans are unfortunately beholden to the Texas oil kings.

@tonyannett EVs are not superior. They are a bait and switch. They still require carbon to produce the battery. The cars are not as dependable and don't go as far, especially in the cold. No more bridges to nowhere. We have perfected the combustion engine vehicle. Let's not throw it all away

@CTXLife @MaxMurrayX @cabinsmountain What's also pathetic is that, instead of addressing the problem with "hunger," you are instead nit-picking language, and I doubt you're as educated as the person you're attempting to debate and with a moot point, at that. You're no leader, that's for sure. You're not solving shit

@CTXLife @MaxMurrayX @cabinsmountain The original person tweeting said "Who's actually starving?" which diminishes the fact not everyone is 1 day away from dying but is still not getting adequate nutrition. If you want to get all mad about it, cool. But don't be a weak spineless little minion and support the concept

@billbush1230361 @WaifuverseAI Just as veterans should get medical treatment and don't, the Epstein list perpetrators should see jail time, illegal aliens should stay put in their own countries and we should deport 100 million, and the US should adopt sound currency off the Federal Reserve system. Should.

@DMAreaOcho @FlakeSamael @ConsoomerLs It's even worse than most people think. Indeed is used AS A WEAPON against US job seekers. Once the company pretends to look at all available applicants, it can then decide none are qualified and hire their internal applicant or H1-B anyway. Now they have a paper trail to CYA.

🇰🇷After a night-shift worker abandoned a convenience store in Busan, one customer stepped behind the counter and started ringing up purchases for everyone. The store remained open all night, and not a single item was stolen. South Korea is widely regarded as a high-trust society and consistently ranks among the safest countries in the world. Many visitors are often amazed by the level of everyday safety that Koreans tend to take for granted. Hopefully, Korea will always remain this safe and trusting.
