@feelsdesperate Apple is seemingly about to go off the same cliff it’s unreal how rapid that collapse can happen. They really just abandoned their entire materials science lab to chase incoherent DEI led ESG stuff.. which Salomon and others ran with and now are eating their lunch

@XaviercMiller In 50 years, the NBA will still be here, but the NFL won’t….mark my words.

I said 2 years ago the NBA will be irrelevant in America within 15 years. People laughed. But this is how it starts. First ratings decline, then fan interest declines, then local media revenue declines. You don’t lose cultural dominance overnight, you slowly become less relevant until it finally shows up in the business side all at once.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

The NBA has informed teams that the league is projecting a $165 million salary cap for 2026-27 -- $1M lower than previous outlooks due to a reduction in local media revenue, sources tell ESPN. Minimum salary $149M, tax level $201M, first apron $209M, second apron $222M also $1M lower each.

If you’re a Christian parent homeschooling boys, it’s important to put them in non-curated environments around the “other boys” sometimes. You don’t want your son to be 30, and naive to how a statement like this will be taken by men outside the bubble.

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

so you’re telling me 5 min before trump announced a ceasefire, someone in his inner circle loaded up on a perfectly-timed trade (long stocks, short oil), walked away with billions, and then we the plebs are told $8 gas is just “the price of freedom” so just get less starbucks ???
unusual_whales@unusual_whales

BREAKING: Just five minutes before Trump's announcement to halt the attacks on Iran, massive trades reportedly hit the market. In one move, $1.5 billion in S&P 500 (ES) futures was bought while $192 million in oil (CL) futures was sold. These orders were 4–6x larger than anything else at the time. The trader seemingly made huge gains. Unusual.

This tweet perfectly encapsulates the problem with modern Christianity. The religion has become deeply emasculated & feminine, powerless to impose & enforce cultural and social norms. It has devolved into an ideological accessory at best, something people "wear" to convey an image of moral virtue. It has especially been pernicious to men, as it asks men to make sacrifices while excusing women for their behavior. This is what Charlie Kirk got wrong and was a big reason why his impact wasn't as powerful as it could've been.

I’m a 56-year-old white male Canadian who paid into the system for 40 years. This is my 1-bedroom apartment — no kitchen or washroom included. Can’t find work. Government pays me just $365/month with zero help on housing. Immigrants and refugees get free housing and live comfortably, while the system I contributed to for decades leaves me behind. I’ve been stuck here over a year, collecting recycling just for gas. This is CANADA. 🇨🇦 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The first time I visited San Francisco, I was eating a burger on the patio of some fast casual spot when a homeless guy came up and asked me to buy him a burger and fries. Normally I ignore it, but I was feeling generous. I went inside, ordered it, came back out, and handed it to him. He opens the burger, sees onions, immediately starts yelling at me, and then throws the whole thing on the ground. While he’s screaming about the onions, the owner comes out with a broom and chases him off. That was the last time I ever went out of my way to buy a homeless person food.

Such a pleasure to stop by the North Brooklyn Safe Streets Showcase yesterday. This community has been on the forefront of the fight for streets that work for everyone — from McGuinness Blvd to Berry Open Street. You're showing the whole city what's possible!

@ShippingManJr Bingo! The middleman-rent seeker-government contractor culture, has made it impossible to build ships. They skimp on wages with labor and don’t take risk. They just get good ole boy contracts from the Feds.

I lost all hope in US shipbuilding when largest US shipyard chief exec told me he needs more money from govt, more trips to Korea, etc. to become more efficient. Didn't want to admit he's just making so much from US taxpayer with Navy & Coast Guard contracts to bother improving.
