CF: Mad Scientist, Update 1 Link x.com/TGuardian32/st… CF: Mad Scientist, Update 2, Wholehaul Wholehaul began to speak, "Now that you are acquainted, let's get down to the plan! Helix Dynamics are attempting to tear down the low income housing zone in Sector Twenty Five. They have been preventing the locals from getting to Sector Twelve to get a defender to prevent the purchase. They plan on replacing it with a hotel resort. We naturally can't allow that. We will be targeting Sector Twenty Two, the Helix Dynamics Research Tower. Hardlock?" He gestured to the tall black man. Hardlock began speaking. "The goal is to divert the Helix Dynamics suppression group from Sector Twenty Five to Sector Twenty Two. I'll be hacking into the communications and routing them to Sector Twenty Two. Henches! Your job will be to wreck things. Just destroy as much property as possible while running from the security. While you have them occupied, WholeHaul and Hustler will be doing their mission. Arsoman will set up a distraction so you will have time to extract, and Rampage… well, you know what to do." I could tell the guy was grinning from under the mask, I couldn't see his face, but I could feel it. Wholehaul took over again. "Junkwitch, you will be in command of the Henches on the field, if Captain Moral shows up, you will have to hold him off for as long as possible." "Heh, Sounds like fun! I have some new toys I'd like to try." She is definitely going to stab Captain Moral if he shows up. Especially since that is a new spear that is crackling with electricity. "Alright! Move out, get prepped. Henches get familiar with one another it is time for Operation: Anti-Helix!" Whoehaul said with gusto. — "Welcome to the team." I shook the hand Howard offered. "You're going to be doing some good work. The Corps are always stomping on the little guy, The Haul is a great force to go against them, even if we aren't the top Super Villain team around." Heh. I've already learned a ton more about how this Supervillain and Superhero business works from that one introduction. "Glad to be a part of the team." Ashley spoke up, "You say that now, but you haven't been hit by Captain Moral before. Ever been hit by a car? Cause that is the closest thing I could say feels like him hitting you." I raised my brow slightly, "Captain Moral hit you? Isn't he all about chivalry?" "I wouldn't let go of a detonator." She said with a shrug. "Still hurt like hell though, bit of advice, don't resist going flying from getting hit by him, you will hurt less, and be able to move after landing. Try moving with the punches." Nodding, I registered the advice into my memory. "So, how are we going to get there? Walking?" There was a scratch sound of metal as a massive van spun into the garage-like structure we were in. Michael open the door. In the passenger side I saw Ev- Junkwitch. She had a sharklike grin as she looked at me. Michael spoke, "Everyone about the Haulobite!" I slid in, they handed me a mask, it was a metal mask made out of scrap metal. I put it on. Oh, a UI? Cool. "Your fitting right in Hench #4! The mask let's you communicate with your fellow Henches. Keep it on, it also protects your identity!" I heard Wholehauls voice. "Heard." I replied briefly. "So… New Guy, where you meet the boss?" Hench #3, aka Michael spoke. "Where I originally met him? He showed up one day when I was making a pot of rice and beans. He was starving. Only saw him again a few years later when he became Wholehaul." I replied while examining the UI. It was pretty dynamic, and showed basic descriptions of whatever I focused on. "Wait, so you are the Beanguy from his stories?!" I was shook out of my stupor as I looked at Hench #3. "He tells stories about me?" I haven't heard any stories about me before. "Of course, you are a bit of a legend, the guy that stared down Hate Droid and lived!" I did what now!? Hate Droid wasn't just a villain, he was a Criminal Villain, someone people are legally allowed to kill instead of bringing in. "When did I do that?!" "Apparently he tried to take one of the people you were feeding food to and you came and threatened to not feed him if he didn't give it back." Ok, "That sounds familiar… but I did that to a lot of people. So I'm not actually sure if or when that event took place." "Really? After you disappeared the Bean and Rice Gang popped up in that area, I thought you were their boss honestly, since they were doing what you did before you disappeared." Huh. "Wait. A gang formed in that alley?!" I refocused on Hench #3, however Hench #2, aka Howard spoke. "Yeah, they were inspired by your actions, I guess when you disappeared they thought that Hate Droid dealt with you or something similar, and kept up your acts. You helped dozens of people with that alley, it turned that street into a full on neutral zone for the homeless, criminals, and broke villains. Hazard Club, a Supervillain meeting bar was built there because of what you did. What happened to make you disappear?" I thought back to back then. "I was trying to find my way I suppose. When I left I was on a bit of an introspective journey to figure out just what I was doing with my life, and that is when I decided to try to improve it. Started trying to learn medicine and become a doctor. I gathered the experience by heading to Sector Twelve's library and reading medical theory and practice. Unfortunately my card eventually expired, was actually saving to renew it. In a few years I think I'd be a qualified doctor." "Heh, in that case, I'll probably end up being your first patient Doc." Junkwitch spoke from the passenger seat. "Maybe you can fix what is wrong with my head." [CP Gained: 50] I gave a small smile, even though she didn't see it. "Maybe." [CP Gained: 10] [Bank: -280]

CF: Mad Scientist, Update 1, Wholehaul [Rolling…: Full Storage: Modded Fallout] [Perk Purchased Automatically: -400] Bank: -400 — Ten years! TEN FREAKING YEARS BEFORE I FIGURED OUT THIS THING WASN'T A GAME PROP! Damn it! On one hand, USBs are ancient in this universe, much less a simple tether hookup like the one this pip boy required. Is this why I haven't been gaining Celestial Forge points despite knowing that I have it? My life has been extremely depressing in this world, I mean, it's not as bad as it would be back home in the same circumstances. But I'm homeless, and just trying to make it by. I ruffled my hair, the fact that it was green at birth has finally worn off. Wait, no it hasn't, I'm still freaking thinking about it! "Haaa." I groaned aloud. There was a shuffle, and I focused on it, twas Tom. "Truth, you ok?" "Could be freakin better. Good news though, those tech scrapping lessons are great." Considering I was able to make a laptop out of scrap from the scrapyard thanks to Tom's teachings, yeah. Things are better. "Good, you up for a job then? WholeHaul could use your help." I rolled my eyes slightly, couldn't help it. WholeHaul, the super villain is a homeless guy just like me, and his name was Tom! It is slightly amusing. Alright. "Fine." "Wait… really?" His eyes were widened a bit. "You've never tried to help before." With a shrug, I got up and stored my pipboy, while disabling my scrap laptop, putting it all into the small area designated as mine by Tom. "I have to start workin to pay ya back for taking me in eventually. Plus, it turns out your scrapwork classes are just what I needed to get started." "Good! Knew you'd come around eventually, we have a meeting in two hours to discuss the plan." He said grinning like a Madman, I mean. Technically he is slightly insane. I wonder what the job is? Probably robbing something or reducing a building to rubble. "This time Captain Moral won't stop me!" — The homeless encampment, built by WholeHaul was actually pretty small. It had three levels, I was based on the second. The third was for newcomers, and the first was WholeHauls base. Technically it was the basement, but due to the disguise of the second and third levels no one actually knew that. I actually ran into Tom by saving his life four years ago. Was an accident, but man I'm glad I did. Good thing I know a little CPR. There was about sixty people who lived here. I'm not sure how many are actually a part of Tom's crew. Originally I was just walking about for around six years after waking up as a teen in the middle of an alley. Not sure how old I actually am biologically, I still look like a green haired toothpick. Honestly a welcome change from looking like a bowling ball. It's a lot easier to prevent weight gain than lose weight. So this was definitely cheating to go from two hundred and fifty pounds to a hundred and forty in an instant. The problem with it was that starving sucked! Luckily, I was smart enough to know the cheapest and most filling food you could buy, so with a bit of begging, and a few generous people I was able to live on tons of rice and beans. With that I was able to gain a bit of weight so my ribs weren't showing anymore. Was also able to build a small group that helped me, even though they hated rice and beans, it was better than nothing. Especially when the soup kitchen was closed. Had easy access to water at least. So, I trained. For a long time. I knew I had access to the Celestial Forge, at least the pip boy I constantly had on me was a good hint. Even though I had started to believe it was merely a toy cause I couldn't get the damn thing working. Didn't realize that the storage was full until today. Heh. How do I even earn celestial forge points. Hmm, if I remember from the stories I read correctly the Celestial Forge accelerates its growth in conflict. So… maybe this is what I need to do. Sure, becoming a villain's henchman might not be the best thing. But it gives me a start. It puts me in the conflict. Which will hopefully start giving me points and I can finally become something more. Time to play cops and robbers. — "I'm happy to welcome a new member of the team, give a warm welcome to Truth!" I don't know why I gave up on correcting it from Truth to True. I grinned, and waved. "I knew you'd come around eventually Truth!" Jackson, Tom's best friend spoke and gave me a bear hug…. I struggled, "Jack you are crushing me!" He let go and scratched the side of his head sheepishly. "Ah, sorry Truth, was a bit excited." Damn he is a bear of a man. "Welcome," He pauses and gestures dramatically, "to the Haul!" There were nine people here. I'm going to be the tenth it looks like. WholeHaul, Tom spoke, "Truth, you know most of us by name, you know Jackson and Evelyn, but you don't know the Haul as a total. Jackson here is my side man, Hustler!" I made it a point to ignore Jackson as he posed. "Evelyn, the Junkwitch!" The redhead giggled. Crazy lady, I remember her almost stabbing me a week ago. "Anton the Arsoman!" So that is why he always smells like sulfur. "Meriwinkle and Heavenly, the twin terrors, Rampage and Hardlock!" I pinned a glance on Hardlock, he was the tech guy that got pass firewalls for this group, honestly I was wanting to know who that was for a while, been a dream to be a programmer. "Unfortunately the others do not have villain names yet, haven't qualified for them yet. But these are your fellow henchs, Howard, Michael, and Ashley! Congratulations, you are now WholeHauls fourth henchman! Welcome Truth!" [CP Gained: 50] I grinned even wider. "I'm happy to join up!" The Celestial Forge was active again! Freaking YES! [CP Gained: 10]

Fun fact: 75% of indies on Steam only release one game. Which is interesting... because once you ship your first game, youve already done the hardest part. The pipelines exist, connections are made, lessons are learned. A second project in theory, should be easier to produce.

Jeff Kaplan just did his FIRST EVER Twitch stream! 10 hours of raw, unfiltered gameplay of his new game: The Legend of California by @kintsugiyama He installed OBS the night before. No polish. No PR team. Just a guy who used to fill arenas at BlizzCon now streaming from his house. "We'd show a cinematic that was the most amazing cinematic ever, and we just don't have the budget for that here. So this is the ultimate keeping-it-real version of how games are actually made." Here are 10 moments from the stream that stood out 🧵

Plasma Weaponry? Hmm. How about a unit that fires plasma that leaves plasma trails on the ground that damages units that go over it over time before it cools. So like it would do 10 dmg at the start of it's burn but decreased to 1 over the span of a couple seconds till despawn. A Plasma Ball Launcher could be fun as well, could have it go over walls and do aoe damage. Course there is always the plasma machine gun which would start as low damage but increase as you fire on the same target doing sustained DOT. There ya go, a couple ideas to play with.

Marathon can be a success, they have a regular amount of players and can probably keep it going if they really try. The problem is, they have get a ton of money to get even and they didn't get nearly enough people to do that quickly. But with a cash shop and regular playercounts over time they can get more money and do well enough and slowly earn enough money to earn back their investment as long as they gain more money than they spend. Problem is, will they let it run for that long?

Dear campers 🏕 I just wanted to say a massive thank you to those who have joined us over on Patreon and chose to join the paid camper membership. Every contribution helps and is appreciated! I feel the community growing, and it's only making me more motivated to take this on alone. Well, not so alone now. I have started to share updates and screenshots early with members as a perk, but I will be sharing them all on here at some point, so don't worry, but patience is appreciated! Here is a little tease of what lurks in the dark...👀🔦

@AftermathZGame I suggest the random occasional jumpscare flags, take inspiration from jumpscare moments from Project Zomboid. Aka opening a door and surprise Zombie! Or walking by a window and a Zombie falls out the second story window.

I know a lot of the gameplay footage has shown faster moving zombies/infected. Now that we are focusing on single-player first, I want you to know that there are slower zombies in the game. 🧟‍♀️ There is a range of infected with their own qualities and will differ across modes. This is designed to offer more of a challenge for later rounds in horde mode, for example, and was originally designed so infected players had more of a chance to hunt campers. 🏕️ There are designs for a tank like infected taking on the slasher role. This character has reasons for being designed this way, which will be explained in the story. His role is different than the usually zombies you will see. Saying that, he is not the only slasher. 🪓 There is a range of enemies to offer more variety, but they are still designed with the lore in mind and will help balance levels. I like listening to feedback and concerns, so please comment your thoughts below. Are you okay with faster zombies, too, or do you only like slow ones? Thank you. 🧟‍♂️ (It won't let me post a poll today)

I haven't gotten to play Star Citizen yet, namely cause I don't have a beast of a PC despite having a ship that would allow me to play. But I always imagined that ships should break apart in space not explode unless they had reactor damage, and if they don't take enough damage to break apart they should become derelict for scavengers to find and haul/refurbish.

Another Armor Damage Threshold clarification needed: M5A Laser Cannons (S3) CAN take down a Perseus in 4.7. It will, however, take longer than The Panther Laser Repeaters (S3) in LIVE. I Wonder when CIG will give us that "Ships should be disabled, not exploded" thingy! 😅
