@KirjavaXIV @GUST_EN In Yumia (and this looks to keep that system with updates), you control one at a time and can swap whenever / or after a dodge to get a counter attack. Three party members on the field at a time, the others do stuff on their own. You can swap bench characters in as needed.

@GUST_EN I'm glad there seems to be more than 1 playable character but now I'm confused. Is it a party based system but they're showcasing 1 at a time? Or do you swap between characters?

~12 hours in, quite enjoying Stardust: Wish of Witch from @KnivStudio ^_^ The counter-attack system is a nifty solution to the worn-out pattern of spending half your effort in SRPGs dancing around enemy attack range. Intriguing plot so far and some cool pixel art to boot

@PlayStalgiaX Enjoyed the simple act of having characters run around in between turns for the heck of it It's a little thing but it makes the vibe noticably more dynamic than the classic turn-based here's my party standing in a line and there are the enemies standing in a line

@MaindeckGames Any time I play a game where I don't have to pause and ask my opponent if they want to do anything every ten seconds, it feels so smooth and comfy. "Cancels suck", to borrow a quip from Kevin. There are reasons why you see more shared-turn alternating action stuff these days

I love the dance of stack-based interaction (and obviously Grand Archive does it the best, to my taste!)... But this treats games without response chains like they aren't interactive at all. Whether turn-by-turn, or action-by-action, you are still interacting with plays. 🙄

@UniVersusCCG turns 20 years old today! According to Wikipedia the first booster sets released on April 14, 2006. Regardless of the size or shape of the rollercoaster, 20 years is a heck of a milestone for a CCG to reach. Congrats to UVS Games and all involved along the way :D

Chrono Cross's Dead Sea is one of the most haunting tracks I've heard in a game. A lone opening piano twists Chrono's iconic major seventh run into something sorrowful and terrifying. A glockenspiel mocks prior innocence. A Green Memory warped into a black nightmare.
