Only at Arsenal could we be top of the league and closing in on the CL Semi but have a proportion of the fanbase that hate the manager I question whether some people actually want success at Arsenal sometimes. Would it wound their ego’s too much.

@Brett_leverton @AFCAMDEN Selling Nwaneri doesn’t make sense. He’s exactly that sort of profile we need. MLS more understandable.

@TMarxx @AFCAMDEN From a PSR point of view it makes loads of sense IF they have big plans in the summer. We won’t know if it makes sense till the window closes and we see what they do with the money: would rather neither went, but if they aren’t going to play then they may as well sell them.

Never say never but can’t see us selling MLS or Ethan, let alone both. Should be keeping both anyway. Few others I’d consider cashing in on first.

Imagine buying a home. And still becoming a tenant. Your “landlord” can take ever-increasing sums from your bank account through service charges and other demands. You work. They extract. Modern serfdom. A LABOUR government protects it.

@DPJHodges So Starmer admits that our energy security is reliant on other countries. He got there in the end but is still making things worse. What a tit.

ITV have buried the lede here. The top line is Starmer directly attacking Trump and comparing him to Putin. "I'm fed up with the fact that families across the country see their bills go up and down on energy businesses bills go up and down on energy because of the actions of Putin or Trump across the world".
ITV News@itvnews

'Matter of principle': Starmer says Israel 'is wrong' for attacking Lebanon amid Iran ceasefire. The prime minister sat down with @Peston for ITV News' Talking Politics Podcast. itv.com/news/2026-04-0…

@HarryScoffin @LondonMoneyFS Sorry, that just isn’t correct. Developers and freeholders have been sued in droves over the last few years, things relating to 15 years ago.

@MattChReport @AFCAMDEN White and Martinelli should fetch close to £100m. The others would be a huge saving on wages.

@AFCAMDEN @TMarxx We have 8/9 players who should be going and there isn’t a chance in hell the total would reach £150m

Personally wouldn’t sell either but at least I understand the thinking with Nwaneri. There should be no world in which Lewis-Skelly is allowed to leave, though. Would be devastating.
DailyAFC@DailyAFC

🚨 Arsenal are expected to listen to offer for both Ethan Nwaneri & Myles Lewis-Skelly this summer. Sources indicate the Gunners would look to receive a combined £100m for the pair, and their sales would account for ‘pure profit’. 👋🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 [@SamiMokbel_BBC]

@AFCAMDEN Not sure about that. Wages will be a problem. Can only see us getting good money for white and Martinelli.

The nut zealotry of Ed Miliband A new occasional series — No 3 Massive Silicon Valley company OpenAI has today paused its major Stargate UK data centre infrastructure project, citing high energy costs and the regulatory environment in the UK. UK industrial energy costs are the highest in the world (thanks, Ed). OpenAI and other AI giants are worried that Starmer’s desire (backed by Ed) to cosy up closer to the EU will mean AI in the UK coming under the Brussels’ regulatory regime, which is killing off AI projects in the EU.
Andrew Neil@afneil

The nut zealotry of Ed Miliband A new occasional series — No 2 At a time when global supply chains are vulnerable and we should be producing much more of our own food, E Miliband has today approved Springwell Solar Farm. It will cover seven square miles of prime Lincolnshire farmland. And the solar panels are likely to come from China (so much for green manufacturing jobs). Mili-Madness on stilts.

The nut zero zealotry of Ed Miliband. A new occasional series. [feel free to add]. Fertiliser prices and shortages are soaring because the petrochemical industries of the Gulf states are major global suppliers but the Strait of Hormuz, through which they export, is closed. Not good for the spring planting season. Undaunted the UK will introduce a levy on imported carbon-intensive fertiliser as part of its costly obsession with cutting emissions, even when the impact is slight. At a time when we should be increasing food security government policy is to penalise farmers further.

In 2019 you could sell your business for £10m a get £9m after tax. If you sell your business for £10m now you will get £7.66m after tax. Which is worth £5.9m in 2019 pounds. In 2019 the top tax rate on dividends was 49.9% it is now 54.51%. In 2019 a pint of beer cost £3.67 (4.76 in 2026) today it costs £5.17. And 2019 was shit, it was Theresa May and the Letwin amendment. Jonathan Pie and Scott Mills. 2019 was better than today and it was total shit.

You are aware that oil and gas together still account for 73–75% of the UK's total primary energy consumption (which covers all energy needs across electricity, heating, transport, industry and other sectors, measured in primary energy terms)? So explain to me exactly how ‘you will make it happen’ that we don’t use fossil fuels.

The problem with this boomer debate for me is that they're completely unwilling to understand how the economic context has changed over the past 40 years.
