I have also come to terms with the fact that Africa will not be mentally emancipated in my lifetime. In doing so, I choose to live a stress-free life, knowing that I and others have done what we could, while accepting that it may take just as long to liberate the African mind as it took to condition and mentally enslave it.

@daddyhope Unfortunately, I have made peace with the fact that a lot of my countrymen are easily distracted. I will vote for the EFF until it stops being the most principled party in SA

What is shocking here is not just the kind of content of these posts, but the retrogressive mindset behind them. This is a Black South African speaking about fellow Black South Africans in the language of division, prejudice, and outright contempt driven by tribalism. To mock people from Limpopo, to reduce entire communities to stereotypes, and to casually demean languages like Venda and Tsonga is not just ignorance, it is intellectual bankruptcy. It is the kind of thinking that keeps societies divided and stagnant. South Africa has spent decades trying to build unity out of a deeply fractured past. Yet here we have individuals who, instead of rising above that history, choose to recycle the same narrow-minded thinking, just directed at different targets. You cannot claim progressiveness or leadership while holding views that belittle your own people. That contradiction exposes everything sick and evil about this mindset. And it deserves to be called out for exactly what it is, tribalism!!

@DavidHundeyin @LarryMadowo Funny to see people angry and yet we are the people who even sell land for a song to raise enough for a Visa to America, and drown in seas while trying to make it to America and Europe. The average African worships America and all it stands for but gets angry when he is told so.

Elite Africans with big English are crashing out over this post but the comments under it from across Africa are proving strong support for Trump. Get out of your filter bubbles and speak to regular people outside your privileged circles
Larry Madowo@LarryMadowo

Many Africans love President Trump's conservative values and straight talk. I said that on CNN and some accused me of lying. Africa is not a monolith, of course, but I travel around it full time and I meet more Trump fans than haters. Where do you stand?

The Hollowed-Out State: How 47 Years Have Cost Iran Its Future By @jahman_adamski For nearly half a century, Iran has been trapped in a suffocating loop. It’s a staggering tragedy: a nation with a monumental history and the resources to be a global titan is being systematically hollowed out from the inside. Since 1979, the ruling elite has traded that immense potential for a grim cocktail of absolute control, economic ruin, and regional chaos. The Architecture of Control The regime’s survival isn't luck; it’s a cold, calculated apparatus where the Supreme Leader holds every card. They’ve spent decades refining a machine designed to silence dissent before it can even draw breath. Through systematic purges of the opposition and the aggressive policing of private life—where "morality police" weaponize dress codes to maintain constant dread—the state has replaced justice with fear. In today's Iran, the courtroom is simply a stage for state power. An Economy Run Like a Mafia Iran’s economy was once the envy of the Middle East. Today, it’s a shell. This wasn't bad luck; it was a choice. The Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) functions less like a military and more like a paramilitary conglomerate, monopolizing everything from cell towers to energy giants. While they cannibalize the nation's wealth to fund shadow projects, the middle class watches their life savings evaporate. As the currency crashes, basic groceries have become luxuries, and the country’s infrastructure is literally rotting while billions are funneled into foreign fights. Exporting Chaos The leadership’s primary goal is "exporting the revolution"—a polite euphemism for keeping the Middle East unstable enough for Tehran to pull the strings. By turning neighbors into battlegrounds through proxies like Hezbollah and the Houthis, they buy influence with innocent lives. Meanwhile, the nuclear program serves as the ultimate insurance policy, designed to let the regime continue its domestic abuses and regional aggression with total impunity. The Stolen Future The greatest crime of the last 47 years isn’t the plundered treasury or the crumbling bridges—it’s the exodus of the people. When a country becomes this suffocating, the only way to breathe is to leave. Millions of Iran’s brightest—the doctors, scientists, and artists who should be the architects of a modern state—now live in exile. This "brain drain" is a permanent theft of the country’s future. The current leadership doesn’t see the youth as a source of pride, but as a threat to be managed. This hasn't been a "victory" for Iran; it has been the systematic dismantling of a civilization by the very people who claim to lead it. Coming up in the next edition: I will dive deeper into the theocratic ideology driving this regime—a group of "terrorist lunatics" whose ultimate ambition is global Islamic dominance. We’ll explore their long-standing doctrine calling for Israel to be wiped off the map and their decades-long tradition of chanting "Death to America". Stay tuned as we expose the reality of a leadership that prioritizes a radical global agenda over the survival of its own nation

It is ignorance. Many so called African Christians wrongly believe that Israel is a Christian state, yet Christians make up less than 2% of the population and have, in some instances, reported discrimination and hostility. They also confuse the biblical Israel with the modern Zionist state of Israel, which is a political entity founded in 1948. Some do not even understand that Jesus was born and lived as a Jew, and that Christianity as a distinct religion developed after his death. It is this lack of understanding that makes it easy to mislead people using religion. That is why many still fall for so called miracles performed by fake pastors and prophets. It is ignorance, and it continues to be exploited. Some Zimbabweans support Israel because of ZANUPF’s ties with the mullahs in Iran, without understanding the full picture. They do not realise that the water cannons used against them during protests have been supplied by Israeli companies with links to the state. They do not know that Pegasus spyware, used by their government for electronic surveillance, was developed by an Israeli firm with state connections. They are also unaware that Nikuv, a company linked to Zimbabwe’s electoral processes and the manipulation of identity records, has been associated with Israeli intelligence networks. They may not even know that Ari Ben-Menashe, who was involved in the operation that entrapped Morgan Tsvangirai, is a former Israeli intelligence operative. It is a lack of information and critical inquiry. It is ignorance, my brother, and it continues to shape how people interpret complex geopolitical realities.
Taps@TSengwe6987

@daddyhope I dont understand much about this war but I have failed to understand the role of non Israeli christians. Why are some christians supporting war and the killing of people. I am a christian thats why I am even more confused. When dd we start supporting killing of anyone?

This morning, I had a constructive meeting with @EcoCashZW CEO Mr. Eddie Chibi at their Borrowdale offices, joined by Hon. Edwin Mushoriwa. We discussed critical issues raised by citizens — particularly around delays in reversing failed transactions and rising bank charges. Mr. Chibi acknowledged these concerns, explaining that most delays are linked to third-party financial institutions, while EcoCash-to-EcoCash transactions continue to achieve a 100% success rate. He also clarified that the IMTT tax is a key driver behind increasing transaction costs. Importantly, EcoCash reaffirmed its vision to drive financial inclusion in Zimbabwe, particularly by providing accessible, digital financial services to all, including underserved communities. This dialogue comes as part of my broader advocacy for financial justice and consumer protection — including the motion I recently raised in Parliament, which is currently under debate, calling for greater oversight and reform in Zimbabwe’s financial services sector. I welcome their commitment to improving service delivery and transparency. As a public representative, my responsibility is to ensure that citizens’ concerns are heard, while engaging constructively with key institutions to advance a fair and inclusive financial system. #EndBankExploitation @daddyhope

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is at the Zimbabwean State House right now with the Tourism Minister, Barbara Rwodzi, and other political players, where they are launching the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Policy. This comes with a Tourism Bill which is a looter’s charter and a driver for massive corruption and looting of state assets. I put the 42 page new bill into Google Pinpoint and this is what I got. I hope opposition parliamentarians and all Zimbabweans are paying attention to this. The New Tourism Bill 2025 1. The bill has excessive ministerial power. It gives the minister power to make binding “policy directions” to the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (Clause 9), control the Tourism Fund (Clause 18), designate tourist facilities (Clause 22), and preside over appeals (Clause 42). This undermines the autonomy of the ZTA and politicises decision making. 2. It creates an entity called Mosi Oa Tunya Development Company, which of course has the power to cause cronyism and corruption. Clause 17 of the bill empowers the minister to expand this opaque government-owned company and register more subsidiaries. This opens the door for politically connected elites to grab tourism assets under the guise of development through government. 3. The bill is hostile to small and informal players through mandatory registration, licensing, inspections, fees, penalties, and compliance requirements, making it harder for informal or community-based tourism operators to survive (Clauses 23–40). Failure to comply will lead to fines, shutdowns, or imprisonment. 4. It creates a surveillance and intrusion culture when it says designated officers can enter, search, question, and seize property from tourism operators (Clause 44) without a warrant. It removes independent oversight of how these powers are used. This is aimed at foreign journalists and their local producers who travel across the country staying in tourism facilities like hotels and lodges. 5. It also carries a platform control and data extraction burden which it gives to operators. It forces online accommodation platforms like Airbnb to register, license, monitor hosts, and share data with the Authority (Clauses 32–35). This creates a surveillance and heavy regulatory environment that will stifle digital tourism innovation. 6. The bill introduces civil penalty orders (Clause 47), where fines can be imposed administratively, bypassing the courts. This undermines basic legal protections for operators. There must be a legal route to disputes, not arbitrary fines that are not appealable. 7. The Tourism Minister acts as trustee of the Zimbabwe Tourism Fund and controls grants (Clause 11), creating opacity over how money is allocated. There is no provision for public reporting or independent audit of the Fund’s expenditures. 8. Every operator must register, be inspected, renew licences annually, keep detailed records, and comply with evolving regulations (Clauses 23–40, 41, 48). This heavy regulatory framework discourages investment and innovation. 9. Appeals against registration or licence cancellation go first to the minister (Clause 42), who also appoints the board and controls the Fund. This makes fair adjudication unlikely, creating a weak appeal protection system. 10. It is not clear on indigenous benefits. While indigenous rights are mentioned (Clause 50), there is no obligation for benefit-sharing in state-led projects, nor protections against land dispossession. So, this Tourism Bill cloaks control and patronage in the language of reform. It concentrates power in the hands of the tourism minister, giving her broad, unchecked authority to government-appointed officers, and burdens operators with red tape while empowering a controversial state company to dominate the industry. It is a perfect law for cronyism and a nightmare for tourism growth in Zimbabwe. One world to use for the bill is kleptocratic! I have posted the bill via my telegram channel 👇🏿t.me/informationhub…

Imagine trying to send money to your parents so they can buy life-saving medication. You use @EcoCashZW , because it’s the most accessible platform. But the transaction fails. The money is deducted from your account—yet your parents never receive it. You call their toll-free number, desperately hoping for help. You wait. And wait. When someone finally answers, you’re told it will take 27 to 72 hours to return the money they have illegally withheld. Now your mother lies sick—without medication—because a multi-million-dollar company won’t return money that doesn’t even belong to them. This isn’t just a technical error. This is exploitation. @EcoCashZW is taking advantage of ordinary Zimbabweans, many of whom rely on this service as their only means of sending or receiving money. They hold our funds, delay our transactions, and make us beg for what is rightfully ours—all while we suffer in silence. This system is broken. This is injustice. And it’s time to speak out. No one should have to watch their loved ones suffer while a company sits on their money. End EcoCash exploitation now. #EndBankExploitation
