@scottmarks45 Perfume and gasoline have ended more baseball careers than curve balls and Tommy John surgery ever will.

There’s two main reasons why participation drops at the 8th grade level and again at the sophomore level: 1. Puberty-enhanced interest in girls 2. Drivers’ Licenses-Mom &Dad no longer the ball and chain. Purely anecdotal evidence acquired in my 35 years of coaching & scouting

Want to know why kids quit playing after 12u....this is the real reason. The big field doesnt care who mommy & daddy are. no more trophies for everyone All that matters...do your skills scale enough to succeed on the big field & do you have the physical skill to succeed! period!

You can tell a lot about a man about how they instinctively respond when it hits the fan. In this photo, Stephen Miller moves on top of his pregnant wife to protect her. Pete Hegseth stands over his wife, surveying the scene while leaning over, protecting her.

Didn’t expect a minor league pitcher from the Angels org to strike out the side of this US lineup but that’s baseball.

My favorite part from @NavyFB Pro Day was all 32 NFL teams getting to witness “Evening Colors” at the @NavalAcademy. Full stop to the drill. Standing in reverence. A daily reminder these men & women are here to serve others. They just happen to be some ballers too🏈 #GoNavy

If someone told me what I am about to tell you a year ago, I would have called it a fairytale. I went to church this morning with my friend Joe. He had invited me months ago and I called him last night to ask if Holly and I could attend with him today. He said he would be honored. He said Bible Study was at 10 and service was at 11 and he sent me the address to Victory Baptist Church in Bristol. When we arrived this morning, we were greeted by so many people and everyone was asking if we were "Joe's friends". We felt welcomed immediately. They led us to the Bible Study group and the leader said, "We have studying Psalms". The same Psalms that led me through the doors of a church for the first time in nearly 3 decades, a week ago. I felt that was a sign I was in the right place. Through the rest of the service, I felt like it was time. Time to commit. Time to turn my life over to him. But when the alter call came, I couldn't go. I just didn't feel worthy, as I have wrestled with for forever. All those people. So pretty and neat. So I didn't go. After the service, Joe asked me to speak with his Pastor, who wanted to thank us for coming, and I said I was happy to meet him. And then it happened. He thanked me for coming and he asked if I knew that Jesus died for my sins. I responded that I have been working on understanding, and then he shook me to my core. You see, I know 1 verse from the Bible by heart. Only 1. I remembered it from my youth because of a song. Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." That's it. That's the 1 verse I know. I know what others say, but I can't quote it. I don't know where it is at. But I know that one. His next words to me? He asked me if I knew Romans and he recited that verse. The only verse I knew by heart, word for word. That was my proof. That was my evidence that today was the day. I stopped him mid verse as I broke down in tears and asked him to pray with me and he led me to the Alter with Joe and several others that I'm not yet sure of their name. Today, I confessed with my mouth, the Lord Jesus.... and I came up a saved man. Today was the day. Today. It happened. I have no idea what to do next or where it goes.... but today, I can say that thank God, I am not where I once was..... but I am NOW where I am. To everyone that has worked on me for years now. Thank you. Thank you for not giving up even when my words were hateful. I didn't know what I didn't know. I still don't, honestly.... But I am not that man today. Today was a great day.

3 Doors Down lead singer Brad Arnold has sadly passed away at the age of 47 after a battle with kidney cancer. "With his beloved wife Jennifer and his family by his side, [Brad] passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his sleep after his courageous battle with cancer," 3 Doors Down said in a statement. "Brad's songwriting became a cultural touchstone for a generation, producing some of the most enduring hits of the 2000s, including the band's breakout hit, "Kryptonite," which he wrote in his math class when he was just 15 years old." "His music reverberated far beyond the stage, creating moments of connection, joy, faith, and shared experiences that will live on long after the stages he performed on." "Above all, he was a devoted husband to Jennifer, and his kindness, humor, and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Those closest to him will remember not only his talent, but his warmth, humility, faith, and deep love for his family and friends." Back in May, Arnold released a video, revealing that he found out he had cancer. Rest in peace, Brad.

I’m pretty sure there has been close to 30% of the last month with no school. They have a hair trigger on moving to a virtual learning day now. Which doesn’t exist for our preschool… We never had this

@TNGrillFather so, after paywalling it, apparently it helps in 3D scans, which allows for bigger suits, which allows the wind to carry them like a sail

@GCSportsWriter @TSSAA This is a well-deserved honor. I appreciate the time and effort that you put in to covering high school sports and the focus you place on the individual athletes. Absolutely one of the best in the business.

@nickmeals @awfulannouncing I was a charter subscriber (I still have the free T-shirt) and was interviewed in a story about Tennessee football and Lane Kiffin. I’m no longer a subscriber and haven’t been for years. Local coverage and in depth MLB coverage was the selling point and they took it away.

Horrible idea. The academies don’t get breaks like the other schools. Thanksgiving is the only time in the Fall semester the students can leave campus to go home. If the game is Thanksgiving then there is no break the entire semester. The Plebes have been on campus since June and the upperclassmen were training for the Summer blocks. There are 8,000 students other than the football players involved.
