On 7th of May 2021, the name “Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin” echoed across Tamil Nadu, as our 'Dravida Nayagan' and Thalaivar Thiru @MKStalin avargal took charge as the #ChiefMinister of #TamilNadu. Our leader’s 1,774 days in office have been nothing short of a miracle✨ for the #1 State in India. Our economy grew at a historic pace, we industrialised at unmatched speed and we delivered welfare at a scale never seen before ! This historic period in Tamil Nadu has been one of phenomenal industrial progress too. As we wrap up #DravidianModel 1.0 and load 2.0, we end with: 1,192 MoUs. Rs. 12,59,533 crores in committed investments. 36,77,758 job opportunities. 33 new SIPCOT Industrial Parks. 7 new TIDEL Neos and 1 new TIDEL Park, with 2 more TIDEL Parks and 10 more TIDEL Neos under development and several new projects and schemes under the Industries Department. Not only did our Honourable CM deliver what he promised, he went above and beyond what any other government could even fathom doing. In these 5 years, he has laid the blueprint for what a state in India can achieve when led by a Chief Minister who works hard and works only towards improving the lives of his people. For me personally, the last 3 yrs or 1,040 days in office as the Minister for Industries have been a humbling and rewarding experience. In this period alone, Tamil Nadu successfully attracted : 975 MoUs, Amounting to Rs. 9,83,196.62 crores in committed investments Opening up 32,70,113 job opportunities. My team and I sat in on more than 1,500 official investment meetings in India and abroad, 14 foreign roadshows and delegations across 11 countries and 21 cities, about 20 domestic delegations, roundtables, several summits and events, countless conversations and nonstop pitches. Reflecting on the journey thus far, I am hopeful that I lived up to the expectations of my leader, the people of Tamil Nadu and Industry and I also know that there is a long, long way to go. I am confident that in about 2 months from now, the name “Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin” will echo across Tamil Nadu once again and the state and its people will continue this march towards achieving our dream of a #TrillionDollarTN, built on the principles of inclusive, distributed growth♥️ Now it is time to shift gears from governance to electioneering ! An exciting new chapter unfolds in #TamilNadu’s #startup journey under @TIDCO_1965 in the department of industries #GoTN ! Today, we handed over the investment approval letters for TIDCO’s first deployments under the Startup Investment Policy 2025 to two highly promising companies emerging from Tamil Nadu’s innovation ecosystem: @AgnikulCosmos 🚀 and @RapteeEnergy 🏍️ ! Under the leadership of Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal, Tamil Nadu is not just attracting massive investments, we are also building a robust innovation ecosystem backed by the GoTN ! TIDCO will now invest Rs. 25 crore each in these two startups making them the first investments under the new policy, signalling the State’s decision to directly support high potential companies emerging from Tamil Nadu’s deep tech and advanced manufacturing ecosystem. We will specifically focus on making strategic investments in deep-tech startups which need long-term capital to succeed. Since 2024 we have been working to reimagine TIDCO’s role with an ambition to transform Tamil Nadu into #ProductNationTN. As part of that vision we have repositioned TIDCO as a #VentureCatalyst, building a structured venture investment framework that can support startups at critical stages of growth. This policy now enables TIDCO to invest up to Rs. 25 crore in startups across sunrise sectors such as electric vehicles, aerospace and defence, renewable energy, semiconductors, medical electronics, artificial intelligence, blockchain, quantum computing, agro processing, technical textiles and speciality chemicals. With these, we continue to expand the network of TIDEL Neo Parks across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities so that the digital economy grows beyond metros. Seven parks are already operational in Villupuram, Salem, Thanjavur, Thoothukudi, Tiruppur, Vellore and Karaikudi. Foundation stones have also been laid in Tiruvannamalai, Namakkal, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli and Erode, with work progressing steadily. In Karur, the park will be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 38.50 crore with a built-up area of about 64,000 square feet. In Pudukotai, the park will come up at an estimated cost of Rs. 36.78 crore with a built-up area of around 60,400 square feet. In Nagapattinam, the park will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 43.78 crore with a built-up area of about 61,000 square feet. Each of these facilities will accommodate IT and ITeS companies, BPOs and start-ups. They will be equipped with modern infrastructure and around 600 IT professionals are expected to work in each park. A major MoU signed during the #CMStalinInUK visit has been grounded today 🌟 During the visit of Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal to the United Kingdom, we signed a major MoU with the Hinduja Group to strengthen the EV, BESS, battery manufacturing and allied ecosystem in TN. Today, that commitment moves forward with the foundation stone being laid for a greenfield battery pack manufacturing facility near Chennai. The overall MoU involves a proposed investment of Rs. 7,500 crore and the creation of around 1,000 jobs in Tamil Nadu. In the first phase, Ashok Leyland will invest about Rs.500 crore to establish the initial manufacturing facility for EV Batteries. This phase alone is expected to generate employment for around 200 people. The facility will manufacture battery packs that will support Ashok Leyland’s electric mobility initiatives and strengthen the State’s EV supply chain. Tamil Nadu has long been the automotive capital of India. As the global transition moves towards electric mobility, we are building the next generation ecosystem that includes battery manufacturing, EV platforms and advanced mobility technologies. A new chapter for Tamil Nadu’s maritime economy ! Under the leadership of Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal, today we unveiled the Tamil Nadu #ShipbuildingPolicy 2026 ! Through NSHIPTN under SIPCOT, Tamil Nadu will develop world class shipbuilding clusters that can support the construction of large commercial vessels, defence craft, submarines, green vessels and offshore structures. The policy introduces structured incentives to attract global shipyards and marine manufacturers. Equity participation, asset leasing, capital support and production linked incentives will encourage long term investment in shipbuilding, marine engineering and related manufacturing. Sustainability will be central to this effort. Green ship recycling, environmentally responsible shipbuilding practices and Industry 4.0 skill development will shape the sector’s growth. Institutions such as the Indian Maritime University and the State Shipbuilding Skill Council will support workforce development for this emerging ecosystem. Tamil Nadu has a natural advantage: 1,076 km coastline, deep water access capable of handling vessels above 2,00,000 DWT and a manufacturing ecosystem with more than 40,000 factories that already power India’s industrial economy. This policy converts that strength into a clear maritime manufacturing strategy. Tamil Nadu has always been a maritime state. From the Chola era to modern global trade, our coastline has connected us to the world. It was a pleasure to meet with Prof. Amit Chakma, Vice Chancellor of the University of Western Australia and his team, along with Dr. Ian Martinus, Investment and Trade Commissioner for India Gulf, Government of Western Australia. We had detailed discussions on UWA establishing a large campus in Chennai in the coming years and how such a campus could integrate with the Knowledge City being developed by TIDCO. Encouraging to see UWA focus on futuristic domains like health sciences and sports, advanced engineering and manufacturing, renewable engineering and most importantly, agricultural research. These are disciplines aligned with Tamil Nadu’s strengths and future ambitions. We also discussed the need for direct flights between Australia and Tamil Nadu. We extended our full backing for this proposal and hope the respective federal governments and airlines take this forward. AI must be sovereign - it should reflect our culture, language and creativity - and glad to see Eros Gen AI attempting this tough domain ! In the presence of Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal, Eros Gen AI today formally launched what they call as "Large Cultural Voice Models" initiative. An MoU was signed in January 2026 between the Government of Tamil Nadu and Eros Innovation for the development of Large Cultural Voice Models as part of Tamil Nadu’s sovereign AI vision. The project involves a proposed investment of over Rs. 3,600 crore and the creation of around 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, including high-skill roles in AI research, voice technology, creative infrastructure and skill development. The initiative has been developed in collaboration with IIT Madras. During the AI Impact Summit in Delhi, the Eros leadership team engaged with us and identified Tamil Nadu as the launch location for this initiative. Large Cultural Voice Models are not just about technology. They are about building AI systems rooted in Indian languages, narratives and creative industries, while ensuring responsible and inclusive deployment.
