At pick #28 Springer is a nice get for the Sixers. He's going to be a versatile defender and his ability to defend the POA will be crucial. A successful first season for Springer will be if he can develop a more diverse finishing package and consistently improve making open 3's.

Springer will have to develop his ability to finish off 1 foot. There were flashes that you will see below but they were few and far between.

With the 28th Pick, the #Sixers drafted 6’4” G Jaden Springer out of Tennessee. Springer's defense is his best trait. His strength allows him to guard the POA, post, and switch. He has great instincts as an off ball defender and knows when to gamble for steals and deflections.

Looked back at the film from Sixers-Wizards Game 1 to see what might happen tonight. Focused on why the transition defense was so poor, how the Sixers attacked Washington's matchup zone, what matchups the Sixers don't want to switch on defense. Read up: theathletic.com/2614620/2021/0…

🚨🚨SIXERS WIZARDS G1 BREAKDOWN🚨🚨 The Wizards, who are 1st in pace in the NBA, punished the Sixers lazy transition defense in the first half. The Sixers ramped up their effort in the second half, only letting the Wizards get out in transition 5 times, down from 11 in the 1H.

@manoffrm @CheryseP22 @DrewHanlen So, Matisse and Dame share the same agent and work with same trainer. Other clients of the trainer are lu dort and mikal bridges. So he should be in the right hands and makes sense why he’s with this guy… definitely understand what your saying tho.

@ThybulleBible With the way his offense is developing, he has a genuine chance to earn minutes nearing the starter realm. Although the shooting has not come around, his ability to attack off of closeouts has been tremendous lately. Video on playmaking growth coming soon. twitter.com/TPPNBA/status/…

If Matisse Thybulle played starter minutes he’d be a serious DPOY candidate

@ScottyDrowned @heatratiosports As you noted, he is still trying to find himself on offense, but it is worthwhile to note he has already grown tremendously over the past month and a half as a driver off of closeouts. Breakdown of his playmaking growth to come soon. twitter.com/TPPNBA/status/…

@NinjaBands Tisse is still very young and growing on offense more than is being publicly acknowledged. While everyone knows his defensive ceiling is limitless, his growth driving the ball over the past month and a half is staggering. Playmaking video to come soon. twitter.com/TPPNBA/status/…

If Matisse Thybulle can be consistent on offense, the sky is the limit for him in the NBA

@TomWestNBA As you noted, he is a limited offensive player. But as a young player, it is critical to highlight and celebrate how he has improved. Since you have tweeted this, Thybulle has improved tremendously as a finisher in both volume and efficiency. twitter.com/TPPNBA/status/…

Matisse Thybulle is obviously still very limited on offense, but I think his finishing and instincts as a cutter have improved a bit this season. He's also shooting 71.9% within 3 feet, up from 65.3% last season.

@jackfrank_jjf Similar to Ben, he's consistently mocked for his shooting woes instead of being celebrated for his offensive growth. Since April, he's made tremendous strides as a driver (volume+efficiency). Assembled mini finishing breakdown; playmaking progress to come. twitter.com/TPPNBA/status/…
