It is with profound sadness that the Windsor Police Service announces the passing of retired K9 officer Hasko. Hasko passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024. A trailblazer in his field, he proudly served our community for over nine years as the region’s first explosive detection canine, assisting in countless cases. Hasko will always be remembered for his unwavering bravery, remarkable contributions, and dedication to keeping our community safe. His courage in the face of danger and his lasting impact on our service will never be forgotten. We extend our deepest condolences to his handler, Constable Ken Meloche, during this difficult time. Today is a difficult day for the Sarnia Police Service as we mourn the passing of Detective Constable Jeff Rovers after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jeff passed away peacefully, with his cherished family by his side. Jeff began his policing career with the Chatham Kent Police Service in September 1995 and joined the Sarnia Police Service in March 2000 where he served for 24 years. Throughout his career, he embodied the values of dedication, compassion, and professionalism. Detective Constable Rovers was an unforgettable member of our community and our police service. Colleagues gravitated to his infectious positivity, job knowledge, and genuineness. He was not only a skilled officer but also a beloved figure to those around him, receiving numerous accolades and heartfelt letters from the public, his peers, and his supervisors. Every member of the SPS and the public who was fortunate enough to interact with him left enriched by his presence. His dedication, spirit and countless contributions will not be forgotten. Jeff’s last day a work was a special one for our SPS team. We had an opportunity to honour his career, his friendship, and his family with a small ceremony at our facility. PSD Sunny gets extra belly rubs after finding a subject wanted for a break and enter in @TPS55Div yesterday. Amazing teamwork and coordination by @comm911tps and all members of 55 Division who were involved.

Great work by Sgt Dickinson of @TPSK9 and Sunny for their help in apprehending a suspect wanted for two daytime bank robberies yesterday. The suspect fled and with Sunny’s assistance, he was taken into custody and arrested. Who’s a good boy? #PoliceDog #K9 #GermanShepherd #Woof

Friday a crime dual committed 16 robberies.The ETF unit found the two committing another robbery & chased them on foot.Both were caught.The K9 team of PC Scott Aikman & PSD Karma attended & searched along the route the two ran.Karma located a loaded firearm.Well done ETF & Karma!

We would like to introduce to you a new addition to our Unit. Seasoned handler Sgt Sean Thrush has just finished training this youthful Belgian Malinois “Rebus” as his new K9. They’re now certified to work the streets of Toronto, serving the community with honour and enthusiasm.

Please clap your hands as we congratulate officer “Prash” Indiran & his K9 dog Kobe. Prash has been promoted to the rank of Sgt and is starting a new adventure at 13 Division as a uniform Supervisor. His K9 dog Kobe is now officially retired! Wishing them all the best!!! 💙🐾

The @TorontoPolice Dog Services Unit is mourning the loss of PSD Garda, who fell ill unexpectedly yesterday. Although she was only 4, she was an invaluable member of the unit, having discovered numerous firearms & narcotics that helped keep the City of #Toronto safe. #RIPK9Garda
