@mavericksdigest I refuse to believe his value is low Over the last 3 szns he’s averaged 61 games a szn. Luka has averaged 62 games a szn over the last 3 szns. Not comparing or saying Luka is injury prone. I’m using him as a gauge. Also AD is 60 for 60 in playoff games..with these averages.

@e_shayne_b @nbastats kon has had better months than Flagg. Since October, Flagg has only had two months where he has been better than Kon. Kon is also doing this with less shots and touches at a super high efficiency. His game isn't flashy so it's easy to hate but kon legitimately is roty.

@kyriewolves He's been bad the last week but outside that he's been way more consistent than flagg, he's also a fine enough passer and defender and their rebounding's the same too positionally. Being as good of a movement shooter and guard screener as Kon id a huge value add.

.@RealSkipBayless thinks Cooper Flagg locked up Rookie of the Year for the WRONG reasons 👀 "Kon Knueppel was the favorite until 3 games ago. Cooper Flagg was averaging 15 shots per-game, until the last 3 games where he's taken 30 shots, 27 shots, & 25 shots."

@RussellWes19381 @JDawgu7zf @Sleeper_Hoops That’s what I meant tho right like, how can you not vote him for ROTY. He’s clearly better than Kon, and in any other season where a rookie isn’t having a Bron type year, Kon is the easy vote. Cause ppl be saying about winning, well than why didn’t Chet win over Wemby?

@TXForever49 @AndrewDBailey How has he been more consistent? Cooper has been doing this since he stopped playing PG the first 10 games in.

I think Kon Knueppel has had the best 2025-26 season of any rookie. This exercise isn't proof of that, but it suggests he's played at a near-All-Star level. He was maybe this season's best shooter, regardless of experience. That's crazy. But I also think the Mavs fans' "look at the role Cooper Flagg has had to play!!" argument is compelling. A rookie leading his team in total points, rebounds, assists and steals is also crazy. Depending on how you define the award, I could see it going either way. And I won't be bent out of shape over either result.

Ben Saraf (360.9) 371. Jordan Hawkins (361.8) A number of catch-all metrics from the around the internet endeavor to tell us who's playing best every year. And though many of the different adjusted plus-minuses attempt to measure the same thing (an individual player’s impact on the game when he’s on the floor), they have slightly different ways of getting there. If you want to acknowledge the most accessible ones, you could say something like… “Jayson Tatum is 3rd in Basketball Reference’s box plus/minus and 7th in wins over replacement player; 3rd in Dunks and Threes’ estimated plus-minus and 5th in estimated wins; 9th in Basketball Index's LEBRON and 31st in LEBRON WAR; 6th in ESPN's Net Points per 100 possessions and 21st in Net Points WAR; and 2nd in Basketball Reference’s game score per 100 possessions and 17th in total game score..." …but that’s quite a mouthful. For the last several seasons, I’ve been sharing something of a shorthand for the above. Instead of rattling off that list for any and all players one might want to discuss, I sort every qualified player by the average of their ranks in those stats (as well as their cumulative variants). The results give credit to each of the metrics, throw a bone to basic numbers (through the use of game score) and reward players for availability (through the addition of the cumulative marks). The lists produced by this exercise aren’t perfect, but none are. Strictly subjective rankings obviously have their own flaws. This is at least a guide. And it can give you a pretty good idea of who’s been the best (or worst) in 2025-26. If you’re looking for a specific player (like, oh say, Paolo Banchero), do the handy little “control (or command) plus F” trick on your keyboard and type in that player’s name. Oh, and one more caveat. If someone looks lower than you thought he should be (a warranted reaction to some placements), bear in mind that cumulative numbers (think points, rather than points per game) are in play. So those who've missed plenty of time are affected by that. *Shout out to Tim MacMahon for coming up with the name "Huge Nerd Index" or HNI. It's a little late in the game to do this, but I was curious to see if or how adding DARKO DPM to the mix might affect things. So, I did. Being just one-sixth of the stew didn't make much of a difference, but there's certainly an argument for getting another reputable number in there. And the real math people might hate me for mixing a predictive number in with non-predictive ones, but they've never cared for me much anyway. So, it's in!

@RussellWes19381 @JDawgu7zf @Sleeper_Hoops Ima just point it out but he’s 3-7 without Melo and 3-14 without Miller but hey he’s a winning player and Coop isn’t. I’m mkt even trying to hate on Kon but Coop is having a lebron type rookie year and potentially wont get it cause another rookies team is better? That’s insane

@RussellWes19381 @JDawgu7zf @Sleeper_Hoops Lmao Hornets fans don’t know how to act you finally got a 9 seed, congrats lol. At least the Mavs have a chip and made it to the finals recently. We’ll be back soon because we have a true number one option and generational talent, Cooper Flagg. And a top 8 pick, Kyrie, and DLive.

@RussellWes19381 @JDawgu7zf @Sleeper_Hoops Didn’t answer my question & such a brainless rebuttal. Coop would be the #1 option cause he’s the #1 pick. He also has it harder every night bc he’s the gameplan & also guards the teams best player. Kon wouldn’t be putting up those numbers, over 70% of his makes are assisted.

@RussellWes19381 @JDawgu7zf @Sleeper_Hoops lol not at all, you absolute retard. Is it solely Kon who made the Hornets good this year? Fuck no. He’s a part of it & if Cooper were on that team he’d also be a part of it. Biggest reason is that Melo & Miller are healthy. Coop is without Kyrie, Lively, and AD (hurt/traded).

@203GX @ggsmanbigW @thedaggerdave @TheDunkCentral But he’s not better than Coop & he wouldn’t be doing what Coop is doing on the Mavs. I mean ffs they are a 9th seed in the east & wouldn’t be where they are without Miller & Melo being healthy this season. Ppl need to stop acting like it’s solely bc if Kon, he’s just a key part.

@203GX @ggsmanbigW @thedaggerdave @TheDunkCentral He’s their third best player. Lamelo is their best & Miller is the 2nd. Kon is 3-14 without Miller fyi. I’m not saying it’s crazy, I get the argument I just don’t think it’s good enough to give it to Kon over Cooper. ROTY was never about team success until now lol

@TSizzle33_ @ggsmanbigW @thedaggerdave @TheDunkCentral He’s the 2nd best player on a good team that’s likely going to make the playoffs. In some ways, one could argue he’s been their most impactful player and the catalyst for their emergence. I just dont see why some people think it’s crazy for him to be ROTY

@JDawgu7zf @Sleeper_Hoops 🤣good tweet. My fav thing is how they brag about winning finally as if they weren’t just the Kings & Wizards of the nba. Congrats on the play in in the east tho😭

@203GX @ggsmanbigW @thedaggerdave @TheDunkCentral I wouldn’t call it poorly but those are role player numbers. Then you look at what Coop has been doing the whole season and obviously recently, it just makes no sense for it to be Kons award

Former Maverick Chandler Parsons says Kon Knueppel is the Rookie of the Year, and it’s not close 😳 "Cooper Flagg is the best player in this draft... but if I had a Rookie of the Year vote, it's Kon Knueppel's and I don't think it's close." (Via @RunItBackFDTV )

@203GX @thedaggerdave @TheDunkCentral I mean it does but i don’t get your point if Cooper has been consistent outside the first 10 games where he was playing PG as an 18 yr old on an injured team. Also he was hurt for 10 games, he’s still been very much available lol..minor injuries happen. Kon has been mid since ASB

@TSizzle33_ @thedaggerdave @TheDunkCentral So consistency means nothing? Being available all season means nothing? Being steady & reliable more often than VJ & Coop means nothing? I love Coop. I think he’s the better player. But Kon, unquestionably, has had the better season and deserves ROTY. If Coop wins I wont be mad

@203GX @thedaggerdave @TheDunkCentral Cooper was literally walking away with the race from November to February and then he injured his foot. I guess history means nothing to you. Also VJ led them all in October. Kon didn’t start taking a strong lead until Cooper got hurt and wasn’t even playing lmao
