A peer-reviewed paper published last year in the journal Bioethics by two professors at Western Michigan University School of Medicine argues that it is "morally obligatory" to genetically engineer ticks to spread alpha-gal syndrome, a permanent condition that makes you violently allergic to red meat.
The paper is called "Beneficial Bloodsucking."
Their argument: if eating meat is morally wrong, then preventing the spread of a disease that forces people to stop eating meat is also morally wrong. Scientists should gene-edit lone star ticks to enhance their ability to carry alpha-gal syndrome and expand their range into urban environments to infect more people.
They call this a "moral bioenhancer." They frame releasing genetically modified disease-carrying ticks as a "vaccination" that only "infringes" on your bodily autonomy rather than "violating" it. The distinction, apparently, is that a tick bit you instead of a government official holding you down.
Alpha-gal syndrome is not mild. The CDC estimates up to 450,000 Americans are already affected. Cases have surged 100-fold in the last decade. Symptoms include anaphylaxis. There is no cure.
Alpha-gal cases are exploding across the United States. The lone star tick's range is expanding far beyond its historical territory. And two academics at a medical school published a paper arguing this is a good thing that should be accelerated.
At what point do we stop treating papers like this as fringe academic exercises and start asking whether anyone is already acting on them?

🚨 FACISM ALERT 🚨
So Virginia violated their Constitution 3 times, their own Supreme Court calls them on it, and they respond by trying to replace all the judges who didn’t let them violate their Constitution…
Yeah, that’s not facist at all.

JUST IN: Virginia Democrats propose lowering the mandatory retirement age for state Supreme Court justices from 75 to 54.

Just so we’re clear: Democrats want to rewrite the Virginia Constitution because the State Supreme Court rejected their unconstitutional maps.
For a party that loves to chant “No Kings,” this is VERY undemocratic.

Can you imagine that the Democrats are discussing lowering the retirement age of the Va Supreme Court to 54 which would force the entire court to resign (including the three that voted with them). Then stack the court with 7 justices who would have pledged to reverse the redistricting decision.
This is your Democrat party.
Power hungry thugs. Willing to burn a high court to the ground that dares to disagree with them.
They should never have power again.

The Kill Switch was pitched to Congress as a way to stop drunk driving—but its real-world implications are far more troubling.
No government should have the authority to remotely control a vehicle you paid for, or turn it into a tool for surveillance.
Stop the overreach. Kill the Kill Switch.

No one batted an eye when 4 major US carriers merged…
US airways bought American airlines out of near bankruptcy… then Continental do the same with United…
All this “anti trust talk” for a Merger that would have resulted in 8.6% of the market is laughable and disingenuous.
This failure is 100% due to @SenWarren inability to understand that socialism does not work. Her socialist ideology has now taken one more victim, spirit airlines along with 40k direct and indirect jobs…
Bravo to the sonically idiots!

so you're telling me spirit airlines was in trouble, knew they had to do something, and attempted to participate in the free market by allowing jetblue to acquire them.
the government then stepped in and said, “no, you’re not allowed to participate in the free market, " denying the acquisition.
so then spirit, knowing that they were about to fail, seeks a government bailout, only to be told, "no, you must participate in the free market” to which they were denied participation in.
this doesn’t seem like free market capitalism to me.

Spirit Airlines died tonight at the hands of the socialist crusader, Elizabeth Warren
She must be so proud to add another casket to her achievements.
Tonight at 3am, Spirit turns off the lights. 14,000 jobs gone. 30+ smaller airports lose service.
JetBlue offered $3.8 BILLION in cash to buy Spirit in 2022. Shareholders, flight attendants union, literally everyone voted yes.
The combined company would have held 9% of the US market against a Big 4 that already owned 80%.
For anyone who understands numbers: 9% isn’t a monopoly against 80%.
Warren said no.
She wrote letters. She pressured Buttigieg. Biden’s DOJ sued. A federal judge killed the deal in January 2024.
Her argument: the merger would cost consumers $1 billion a year.
Now look at her collateral damage she dusts under the rug.
510 pilots gone in the months after. 1,800 flight attendants furloughed in December.
14,000 jobs in 2023. 7,500 last week. Zero tonight.
And that’s just the people in Spirit uniforms.
Catering goes. Fuel guys go. Baggage crews, gate agents, airport coffee shops, hotels and rental cars in 70 cities Spirit flew to. Every airline job carries 3 more on its back.
40,000 people out of work because of one woman’s moronic crusade against the market.
And the math ain’t mathing.
Spirit abandoned 90 routes during the death spiral. Fares on those routes are up 14% on average. Oakland to Newark: $135 to $288. Fort Myers to San Juan: $92 to $219. Kansas City to Newark up 66%.
That’s reality. Not some BS number from a “study.”
So @SenWarren tell me how this saves the consumer money?
Cheap carriers in a market drop fares 21% across the board. Southwest did this in the 90s and saved Americans $68 BILLION over 20 years.
Warren killed it. That’s what moronic politicians led by socialism do.
Then with her own blind arrogance, she tweeted Spirit’s collapse is “a Biden win for flyers.”
A win.
14,000 people are reading termination letters tonight.
And she’s taking credit.
This is socialism in 2026.
A senator who’s never made payroll thinks she knows how to run a market better than the people who own and work in the company.
She saved you a billion on imaginary paper.
She cost you ten times that in real life.
She didn’t protect consumers from anything.
14,000+ will go from working to welfare.
She will make sure to blame billionaires, hardworking tax payers, AI, capitalism and whatever monster they will make up tomorrow hiding under your bed.
Higher taxes. Fewer jobs. More expensive everything.
She called it a win. I hope you enjoy winning.
