Marathon's first season wraps up on June 2. As we begin to prepare for Season 2, we're going to reveal more about NIGHTFALL this week, including details about Night Marsh, the new Runner shell Sentinel, the Cradle, and progression improvements.

@PigeonGoGaming Not a hot take. I genuinely think the marketing being received as "hardcore" hurt the game. Because aspects of it are honestly chill af & in some cases even more friendly than that of Arc, per my own experiences with Marathon. Hoping more people check it out as both can coexist.

🌶️ Hot take? Marathon has a WAY BETTER quest system than Arc Raiders! - Better Quests - More varied Rewards - Faction rep unlocks vendor gear, kits & lets you upgrade player stats (You're always progressing) If #Marathon gets a Free Weekend for S2, I'd recommend trying it! 👍

@SolCorona01 Fair take. I'm the opposite, as I played Arc through the entire first reset. Though I enjoyed the game, the pace of the PvP & overall "friendliness" of the game just didn't do it for me. My background is Halo, Destiny, Gears & other arena shooters. So Marathon clicked instantly.

@TYPOGRAPH1C I played it during the server slam and bought it when it released. Couldn’t get into it like I did with arc raiders. I refunded marathon

I'm shocked people were still playing Destiny 2. If you don't like Marathon, that's fine. But you will NEVER convince me that it's a terrible game, nor that it deserves the hate & review bombing it's received (and still is from the recent announcement that D2's being sunset).

@spartanonyx @MyGhostShell I also don't understand why ppl make these assumptions that just because others aren't logging over every single day, they're 100% done with the content or have uninstalled/refunded, and are never coming back to Marathon. I, like many, juggle several games & also a job/wife/kids

@MyGhostShell @TYPOGRAPH1C a lot of people dropped the game before cryo even came out or just never touched cryo. I feel like if you didn't progress enough to give cryo a few tries and finally fully experience the entire gameplay loop, it wasn't given a fair try

@shehhhd16812 "there's no real purpose to play it" Is simply fragging out, achieving a coveted rank, & enjoying besting opponents in various fun modes not "enough" for a FPS in 2026? Personally, I don't think FPS games NEED a campaign to be successful (many gamers skip them). Explain, plz?

@TYPOGRAPH1C The finals is really good, but it does just feel like there's no real purpose to play it. But this is the exact opposite. This game has so much to build to.

@OlManMakowski That's definitely a valid question. Because let's face it, Halo is ass for 3s. I feel like it'd have to be 4s (or 5s even?). I think more is fine, as the underlying goal of the "PvP-lite" playlist is to just give people a place to shoot their gun and warmup.

What if the planned PvP mode in Marathon was a reimagined version of Trials? 3v3. Elimination w/ revives. Win, and you take the other teams loot. Draft style loot haul. Highest performing player picks first. 7 wins in a row = gold loot box. Idk, might be onto something…

@OlManMakowski @darthyucky Could you imagine Halo-style CTF with Marathon classes/movement abilities? Shit'd go dummy hard. And yea, for the lore/continuity of it all, we better get Oddball at least.

@casualblu3 Agreed. I don't like that you can't buy bubbles. It becomes a game of the haves vs the have nots, first & foremost. On top of that, I agree EMPs should hard counter them, but we also should be able to buy both. I also like your idea of multiple bubbles canceling one another out

I'm not sure what Bungie should do, but the bubble/slick mag/Mizzy meta isn't very fun in Cryo. People are blaming the guns, because that's what kills them, but I don't think that's the issue. ​The real problem is still bubble availability (and also Recon wallhack uptime with energy amps and running two Recons in a squad...). ​Bubbles completely go against Bungie's stated design for the game: "One of our core philosophies for Marathon is that rapid repositioning and aggression must always have a meaningful cost." Bubbles just nullify that cost because they act as a "get out of bad positioning free" card. ​Right now, Cryo feels like: ✅ Pop wallhacks ✅ Slide-rush with a shotgun ✅ Pop a bubble because you’re out of position 🔄 Repeat until everyone's dead. ​I'm not sure what the fix is, but the best metas are varied metas. ​Maybe make EMPs a hard bubble counter? Maybe if you throw a bubble onto another bubble, it breaks the first one? IDK, but I still think bubbles are the root of all evil.

I’ve spent the last 10 months learning about Call of Duty modding and all of its intricacies. Not to give myself god mode or unlimited points in zombies. But to give the games that I cherish dearly the best competitive experience possible. Can’t wait to show it off tomorrow!!

@justinrclarke Setting up a Trimui Brick Hammer for me, and the red Brick for the oldest. Doing some button swaps, sound dampening mods, replacing the thermal pad, and I'm adding new aluminum face buttons & 3D printed triggers to mine, as well as some wrist straps.

Play Marathon It’s fun

just had an idea. they should make a 6 shell squad in marathon for a pve only mode where you perform puzzles to progress through an environment until you eventually get to a final boss, and it should be harder on day one with a race to finish first

The Finals would like a word. Also, I really hate that we have to technically include Valorant in this "decade". Aside from that, yea Marathon Top 3 at least.
