I wanna make friends with dragon fruits farmers and exporters in Kenya!! We can have calls to exchange information. I work with a company that has just started to grow dragon fruits in a 10 acre farm. Will harvest 30 tons / year in 2027 and 60 tons from 2028. #dragonfruit

@aquinas_wasike @aquinas_wasike And additional info, we are considering providing solutions to rural Kenyan people based specifically on financial systems, rather than other industries. What could work might be for livestock, but might be other things.

@aquinas_wasike Still unsure about the case we're inquiring about. We’re conducting interviews with SME livestock farmers to better understand their challenges and explore potential unique solutions we could offer. Do you know where or who we should reach out to in order to meet these farmers?

Kenyan friends🇰🇪 Exploring a pay-as-you-go finance startup for livestock farmers. Still debating if livestock is the one to start. Any successful agri-finance/livestock models in Africa I should check out? Would love to interview entrepreneurs or users. Please reach out!

What we are now aiming for from now is to make our products competitive to Royco - one of the most popular seasonings in East Africa by reaching the bottom of the pyramid.

Yes, definitely we Alphajiri Limited is the one. I'm gonna DM you @ponton_alex Our "miso" products made in rural Kenya using local farmers' produce are really getting popular by local consumers. In 2022 1,000 pcs were sold and this year 7000pcs were sold.

Time to back some boring businesses I have been posting for all of last year about the need for early-stage funders to start backing “fast-growing” traditional businesses. It doesn’t matter if you are building a fintech or a new grocery store concept. A Startup is growth. I feel like the time has come for me to go beyond the talk and start putting money where my mouth and keyboard is. I have teamed up with @TonyNatif on this. If you are a traditional business with clear evidence of product market fit, please reach-out. Tell us your story. Do you have a queue at your restaurant every day? Are your products selling out before they even reach your warehouse? Are your customers thinking you use internet pictures and can’t believe your products are locally made? Are you already selling to multiple African countries even if it’s informally? Show us the evidence that makes your business special and we will find a way to support you. If we are to make a fund out of this and show VCs that a boring business well executed can lead to VC-like returns, we need pipeline. I don’t care if you are in Lilongwe, Kampala, Juba or Lagos. Reach-out. My DMs are open.

A cancer survivor who had worked with us is still battling cancer. I remember she had been very happy working with us as rehabilitation too, but she needed to leave because God has given her the hardship again. Your contribution will be highly appreciated.
